ITE and NUS have launched VERSE – Singapore's first intra-professional nursing training programme that uses immersive virtual simulation to train ITE Enrolled Nurse and NUS Registered Nurse students together, building the teamwork and communication skills that are critical in real-world healthcare settings.

For Harini D/O Selvarajan, Higher Nitec in Nursing student who participated in the trial simulations, the experience was eye-opening. She shared, β€œThe simulation helped me understand how Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses can better support each other in patient care. It also gave me more confidence to speak up and contribute as part of the team.”

Launched earlier today at CAVE@NUS by Guest-of-Honour, Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Education, VERSE will be progressively integrated into both institutions’ curricula from 2027, benefiting around 700 students annually.

πŸ₯‹ Taekwondo athlete, Keston Pang, has spent more than a decade pushing his limits, and his dedication has taken him to the Southeast Asian Games not once, but twice. Representing Singapore in the Men's Under-54kg Kyorugi category, he clinched bronze medals at both the 2023 and 2025 Games.

When he is not competing, Keston gives back to the sport as a part-time instructor, inspiring and mentoring young athletes. He has also proudly represented ITE in the POL-ITE and Institute Varsity-Polytechnic Games for four consecutive years, demonstrating the same discipline, resilience, and drive that have defined his sporting journey.

In recognition of his achievements and contributions to sport, Keston was awarded the ITE Sports Excellence Award.

A proud moment for our design community! πŸŽ¨πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ

Kelly Ong, a Year 2 Higher Nitec in Communication Design student from ITE College Central, saw her commemorative NETS FlashPay Card design unveiled at the Sweden National Day Reception 2026 on 4 Jun 2026.

Inspired by the Merlion, Swedish Dala Horse, and iconic landmarks from both nations, her artwork beautifully commemorates 60 years of shared friendship and cultural heritage. ❀️

πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬πŸ€πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ύ Across the Causeway and into our classrooms! On 9 June, ITE College West was honoured to welcome YAB Dato Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor, Malaysia, and his delegation for a campus visit where they got a firsthand look at ITE in action.

πŸ“šπŸ’Ό The visit provided insights into how ITE prepares students with the skills and confidence to thrive in today's workforce. At the School of Engineering's automotive training facilities, YAB Dato Seri Amirudin saw how students train with cutting-edge smart technology and highly realistic simulators, giving them hands-on experience that mirrors real-world automotive industry demands.

He also toured Hotel West, where immersive training environments prepare students to hit the ground running in the hotel and hospitality sector. Beyond the facilities, the visit was a meaningful exchange of ideas on career and technical education and how both countries are investing in their youth.

Tharani d/o Karthikesu believes that adversity can be a powerful catalyst for growth.

After putting her studies on hold to become her family's sole breadwinner and care for her wheelchair-bound grandmother, Tharani returned to ITE more than a decade later to pursue a Work-Study Diploma in Community Engagement and Development.

Today, Tharani mentors and supports disadvantaged youths at Inclus Pte Ltd, bringing to her work a depth of empathy shaped by her own experiences.

A recipient of the Lee Kuan Yew Model Trainee Award 2026, Tharani's story is a reminder that it is never too late to pursue your aspirations, and that life's challenges mould and prepare us for greater purposes.

Spotlight on two student projects under two sub-themes β€” Innovation Cities: Sustainability in Urban Futures & Smart Shifts: AI and the Future World

From greener communities to AI, we explored how innovation can shape a better future. 🌍✨

Through our learning journey at the M.A.D Garden, we saw how sustainability can be part of everyday life through green spaces, mindful choices, and caring for our environment. 🌿

At the same time, the AI learning journey deepened our understanding of AI, its real-world applications, and how it may shape the way we learn, work, and create. πŸ’‘πŸ“Š

Together, these experiences show how learning goes beyond the classroom, inspiring us to think creatively, explore new possibilities, and make a meaningful difference. 😎
