[Operationalisation and Islandwide Testing of SG Alert on 10 May]

In April 2026, SCDF announced the implementation of SG Alert, a mass emergency alert system that broadcasts time-sensitive emergency alerts to all mobile devices islandwide or within specific geographical zones. This system will be rolled out in phases, beginning with public testing for Singtel network users.

At 12pm on 10 May 2026, SCDF will conduct island-wide testing of SG Alert for Singtel users. Mobile phones will need to be updated with the latest Apple or Google Android operating system (iOS 26.4 or OS 12, with the latest Google Play system update) to receive the alert. No internet connection, application download or account registration is required.

Users will receive a pop-up notification with the header ‘SG Alert’, accompanied by an alert tone and a vibration pattern. The alert will also bypass the phone’s “Do Not Disturb” or silent mode settings.

For more information about the SG Alert, please visit go.gov.sg/sgalert.
