Fangfang's Cube Diaries: A Friend for Every Twist 🧊🐼

Fangfang used to cube alone at the park just him, his cube, and a quiet bench. ""Cubes make me happy,"" he'd say to himself.
Then one day, a few curious faces wandered over. ""Wow!"" ""好厉害!"" ""Increíble!" "Different languages, same reaction.
One trick turned into a challenge. One challenge turned into a table full of new friends, all cubing side by side. ""Nice move!"" ""再来一局!"" ""We did it!""
By the end of the day, Fangfang wasn't cubing alone anymore he had a whole cube family.

Twisty puzzles aren't always harder than the 3x3.

Pyraminx and Skewb might look more unusual than a standard 3x3 Cube but looks can be misleading:

🔺 Pyraminx — fewer algorithms, simple and intuitive steps, quick to learn and solve
🟥 Skewb — very few algorithms, easy logic-based solving, fast to learn and master
🟦 3x3 Cube — often the foundation of cubing, but with more algorithms and more complex solving steps

Different shape doesn't always mean a harder solve. Some puzzles that look complex are actually more beginner-friendly than the classic 3x3.

Solving difficulty depends on the puzzle's structure, not just its shape.

Fangfang watched from the side of the stage, too shy to join in. But instead of walking away, he picked up his cube.

No matter how scrambled your cube is, there's ALWAYS a way to solve it in 20 moves or less. That's not a guess it's mathematically proven!

Back in 2010, researchers Tomas Rokicki, Herbert Kociemba, Morley Davidson and John Dethridge used Google's computing power to test every single one of the 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 possible cube positions... and confirmed it: no scramble ever needs more than 20 moves.

Most solves only take 17–18 moves on average, but a rare few called 'distance-20' positions need the full 20. Either way, every scramble has a solution, and the smartest one never takes more than 20 moves. 🐼✨
