🌊 Last week we welcomed Mr Kaupo Läänerand, Estonian Deputy Minister for Maritime at Water Affairs from Kliimaministeerium / Ministry of Climate of Estonia to Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) . Deputy Minister´s mission was clear: to showcase Estonia as an innovative maritime nation, exchange experience in enhancing security for undersea and explore collaborative opportunities with key stakeholders.
At meetings with Senior Minister of State of Ministry of Transport, Dr Amy Khor and Chief Executive of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) Mr Eng Dih Teo, Deputy Minister discussed priorities that align both nations' goals in advancing sustainable and secure maritime practices, including and existing collaboration with CR14 and TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy.
Deputy Minister Läänerand as well shared insights on maritime security, surveillance, decarbonization, port digitalization at a roundtable jointly hosted with RSIS | S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and at meetings with Brigit Gijsbers, Vice Minister at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands, with Even Tronstad Sagebakken, Deputy Minister for Fisheries and Ocean Policy of Norway, with Mr Francis Zachariae, Secretary-General of IALA; and through interviews with prominent local media outlets like The Straits Times and MONEY FM 89.3.
Grand opening of the Estonian pavilion at EXPO@SMW and at the networking reception at Estonian Business Hub facilitated valuable connections with industry leaders and representatives from the Association of Singapore Marine & Offshore Energy Industries (ASMI) and Estonian Business Delegation, including SRC Group, Cybernetica, LTH-Baas, Insta Globe Engineering, Indra Kaunis (Consolato del Mare), MindChip, AVATEC Marine, VARCUS Solutions Ltd. and Mr Ragmar Saksing and Ms Merit Kindsigo from Estonian Maritime Cluster.
