When you think of internships, you probably picture polytechnic or university students gaining workplace experience as part of their diploma or degree. But did you know that at =DREAMS Singapore, our scholars can begin exploring the world of work while they're still in secondary school? 💼
As part of our Future of Work scholarship offering, the Sec 3 Internship is one of the highlights many of our scholars look forward to each year. The journey begins well before they step into the workplace—with pre-internship workshops, job applications, interview preparation—and concludes with reflection and debrief sessions. More than just workplace exposure, the experience helps our scholars explore different career pathways, build confidence, develop professional skills, and gain a better understanding of what different careers involve. Along the way, they also learn valuable lessons in resilience, adaptability, and perseverance as they navigate new environments and challenges.
Many of our scholars shared that they felt nervous on their first day, but left their internships with greater confidence in their abilities and a clearer sense of what they might pursue in the future.
