💛 Two Days of Creativity, Connection & Joy

This school holiday, Big At Heart volunteers spent two meaningful days creating moments of fun, creativity and connection for the children at Gracehaven Fostering . 🌟

🌕 Day 1 — Snowskin Mooncake Workshop where the children got hands-on making their own snowskin mooncakes. From preparing the fillings to shaping and wrapping their creations, it was a day filled with curious hands, big smiles and plenty of teamwork. 🥮✨

🎨 Day 2 — Paper Garland Making
The creativity continued with a colourful paper garland-making activity. The children explored their imagination, worked together and transformed simple materials into something beautiful to brighten their space. 🌈✂️

But beyond the mooncakes and paper garlands, what made these two days special was the connection created between volunteers and the children.

As the IPAC Coordinator beautifully shared:

“Your enthusiasm, patience, and generosity brought smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories to the children. Beyond the activities themselves, your presence showed them that there are people in the community who care about and believe in them.” 🙏💛

That is what being Big At Heart is about — showing up, sharing what we can, and reminding others that they are seen, valued and cared for.

Walking Together, Wishing Them Well 💛

This Sunday, Trekkers@heart & Big At Heart brought people together for a meaningful morning walk with 9 migrant brothers from TeeUp’s PPT Lodge 1A, followed by breakfast, fellowship and a special Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi tying) ceremony.

Rakhi is more than a simple thread. It carries a wish for protection, strength and well-being — especially meaningful for brothers who are far from their own homes and sisters. As each Rakhi was tied, it was a small reminder that even while they are away from their families, they are remembered, cared for and held in the hearts of a community here in Singapore.

The morning continued over heart-to-heart conversations during the walk, shared homemade breakfast after the walk, the distribution of groceries and fresh fruits to more than 500 migrant brothers, followed by a dormitory tour.

Simple acts, but meaningful ways of saying: you are seen, you are valued, and you are not alone. 🤍

We are grateful to everyone who walked, volunteered, donated and helped make this morning possible.

Big At Heart was privileged and happy to organise a MDW Fiesta with and for One Stop Centre of High Commission of India in Singapore on 16th August 2026 in the premises of the embassy. We tried putting together elements of entertainment, wellness and essential services with the collaboration of , , , The Kindness Ripple : An initiative by Wordions.com and other Indian associations. There were information and assistance booths of Centre for Domestic Employees - CDE , Singtel, POSB, .migrants.sg, health check byTrue Care Clinic and more. The evening opened with a welcome address by Mr Ajay Singh - First Secretary (Community Welfare), introduction of OSC by the OSC officers and Ms Cheshta, followed by an address by the High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule. A session of chair yoga by Visha Seth, Bolly zumba by Namrta Birmi , cultural performances by Maharashtra Mandal Singapore, Singapore Sindhi Association and Vanita NupuraDanceAcademy , followed by a game of Bingo created much buzz and excitement. Big At Heart volunteers ran a zentangle as mental health and relaxation activity, while The Kindness Ripple ran a fun game and henna booth. The evening was nicely held together by young MCs from Singapore Tamil Society.

We thank One Stop Centre for giving us an opportunity and support to create this sweet yet essential outreach afternoon for the Domestic Helpers - the lifeline of many households in Singapore.

An art and craft project - Big At Art - led by our young volunteer Tanya Chakraborty kicked off with a beautiful and colourful beading activity that was loved by all elderly last week. Haleema, Aarush, Arhan, Tanya, Nalini and other volunteers were a part of it.
