Last Friday was a day of learning, inspiration and connections at the Women in GovTech Mini Conference!
With its inaugural run in 2024, the conference is an annual event organised by our Women in GovTech Employee Resource Group (WIG ERG) to celebrate women’s achievements in tech, facilitate the exchange of insights, and share stories of courage, resilience and leadership.
The event kicked off with a fireside panel featuring Singapore’s first female president, Mdm Halimah Yacob, GovTech’s Deputy Chief Executive of Government Digital Transformation, Henry Chang and CEO of Homage, Gillian Tee. They shared stories of how much we have achieved for gender equity over the decades, how we can show better support for other women through culture, and cultivate self-conviction that you earned the opportunities that come your way.
The attendees were also treated to an AI workshop, facilitated by staff from GovTech and Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), who shared how to write effective text and image generation prompts.
Lastly, we ended with a Human Library Segment, during which attendees could listen to ten guests’ unfiltered stories and lessons on how they carved careers for themselves and balanced the various demands of life.
This year’s conference is our biggest showing, with nearly 300 public officers and guests, more than double last year's turnout. Thank you to all our volunteers and guest speakers for their support in making the event a resounding success!
