As Founder of Through The Golden Door (TTGD) EcoSocieties, an important component to systematically reduce or eliminate poverty and to create a value-based society, is the PICS system.

PICS (Pro Bono Impact Credits System) – Beta Version

We are at the early launch of the PICS Economy — a framework to recognise and record unpaid social contribution that creates measurable positive impact.

Every one and any individual undertaking unpaid activities with measurable social impact is eligible to earn 100 PICS Credits per hour of approved social impact activity.

Credits are recognition of contribution and are recorded against the volunteer profile. Illustrative Eligible Activities includes, but is not limited to:

- Taking care of elders and senior citizens
- Teaching children and mentoring students
- Home management and unpaid caregiving
- Nursing and patient support
- Plantation and environmental restoration
- River, lake, road and beach cleaning
- Mediation and conflict resolution
- Community dispute settlement
- Sports coaching and youth development
- Training and skill development
- Volunteering at NGOs and social organisations
- Legal aid and pro bono professional services
- Mental wellness and emotional support initiatives
- Disability support and inclusive participation
- Animal care and rescue support
- Blood donation drives and health awareness
- Rural development initiatives
- Community kitchens and food distribution
- Cultural preservation and heritage activities
- Digital literacy and technology inclusion
- Financial literacy and social empowerment
- Disaster relief and rehabilitation support
- Research, innovation and knowledge contribution for public benefit
- Community governance and local civic participation

“The Path That Promises Gold Must Be Walked With Open Eyes

Every road that glitters has a story beneath its shine. When a path promises gold, it attracts dreamers, risk-takers, and the desperate alike. But wisdom reminds us that not every promise is pure, and not every shortcut is safe.

To walk with open eyes is to balance hope with caution, to admire the shine without being blinded by it. Those who rush forward blinded by desire often miss the hidden traps: unfair deals, false mentors, and sacrifices that cost more than the reward itself.

Walking with open eyes means asking hard questions before taking bold steps. Who laid this path? Who benefits most from my journey? What have others lost while chasing the same promise? In life, in business, in politics, and even in relationships, many paths are marketed as “golden” while quietly draining time, dignity, or values. Awareness does not kill ambition; it protects it. The wise traveler studies the ground, listens to warnings, and prepares for both success and loss.

True gold, in the end, is not just what you gain, but what you manage to keep. Your integrity, your peace, and your future. A path worth walking is one that rewards patience as much as courage, and wisdom as much as effort. When your eyes are open, even if the gold is delayed, you will never lose yourself along the way.”

At TTGD EcoSocieties, we have been walking with open eyes, with patience and perseverance.

We are at an important juncture for Through The Golden Door EcoSocieties after many years of conceptualisation, running events, testing, rethinking, reworking, free training, reworking and restructuring again and again and again.

I am overwhelmed and in awe of this journey since the release of the book 'Through The Golden Door : The Doorway to Our Advancement' in Jan 2016. It has been a formidable, transformative and deeply humbling 10 years.

My heartfelt thanks to all who have stayed in heart-centred belief, devotion and visionary commitment. It is so easy to deviate, detour or fall away.

Many thanks to all those who met with me and our Committee during the recent trip in Singapore, with plans for the next Phase.
