Internships are a powerful stepping stone into a full-time role in an organisation.

For Cindy Lau, an Assistant Manager at the Communications & Engagement Division of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore - CSA, her short stint with CSAโ€™s HR department gave her the opportunity to contribute, gain deeper understanding of CSA's work and build valuable connections. Her experiences helped pave the way to her current role.

Today, Cindy helps make cybersecurity more accessible to the public. Through infographics, videos and digital content, she helps translate technical topics into practical advice that people can apply in their daily lives.

The mission is personal too. After a family member fell victim to a phishing scam, Cindy saw firsthand how real cyber threats can be, and why public education matters.

Cindyโ€™s advice on Public Service internships: stay curious and put yourself out there. Even when opportunities feel unfamiliar, being open to learning and willing to take the leap can go a long way. You never know where the opportunity might lead.

Watch to see what a day in Cindyโ€™s life looks like, as she works to keep Singapore cyber safe.
