Tanjong Rhu Residents' Network

Tanjong Rhu Residents' Network Tanjong Rhu Resident’s Network was started in 2000 to build a strong sense of community and belonging This area was formerly known as Sandy Point.

Tanjong Rhu is a combination of 'cape' / 'point' (Tanjong) while Rhu comes from Casuarina trees, referred to in Malay as Pokok Rhu. It is said to have first appeared in de Erédia's 1604 Map of Singapore, written as "Tanjon Rû". Tanjong Rhu Neighbourhood Committee which is entirely made of volunteers was started in 2000 under the People's Association. It seeks to encourage active citizenry and foster stronger community bonds amongst Residents living in Condominiums located all along Tanjong Rhu Road and part of Fort Road. Tanjong Rhu Neighbourhood Committee also work with various government agencies to improve the social and physical environment within the neighbourhood. Its main functions are to:

1. Promote neighbourliness, harmony and cohesiveness amongst residents.
2. Connect with and make recommendations to Grassroots Adviser and Government Agencies on the needs and aspirations of residents.
3. Disseminate information and obtain feedback on government policies and actions from the residents.

Urgent. Please share widely and keep a lookout

The police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a 13-year-old teenage girl, Kylie Tan Le Tian, who was last seen in Tanjong Rhu.

Police said in a news release on Monday (Aug 17) that Kylie was last seen at about 7.30am on Monday in the vicinity of 10 Tanjong Rhu Road, wearing a dark blue top and dark blue skirt.
