We were proud to support President Tharman Shanmugaratnam's historic State Visit to Tanzania this week, alongside Singapore Business Federation and their delegation of 15 companies spanning sectors from agri-commodities and logistics to fintech and consumer goods.

A highlight was visiting the Darajani Souk in Stone Town — where Singapore's Nomanbhoy & Sons Pte. Ltd partnered with the Zanzibar government to transform a century-old market from 150 to over 550 shop units, improving livelihoods and reinvigorating a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The visit also welcomed the East African Community's (EAC) intention to negotiate an EAC-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, and the signing of Memorandums of Understanding spanning taxation, carbon credits, trade, skills development, and more with Tanzania — laying a strong foundation for the next chapter of Singapore-Tanzania relations.

Ever wondered what’s making things run like clockwork every day?

From the food on your plate to the apps on your phone, standards are working quietly in the background, making everyday life safer, simpler, and more reliable. But their role in powering business growth and keeping Singapore competitive is a story less often told.

Explore how standards help to shape industries for where they’re growing:

How Singapore standards and conformance practices help Singapore’s key sectors improve safety, reliability, innovation and global competitiveness.

Human interaction lies at the heart of every breakthrough innovation.

That’s why we partnered with Applied Ventures to co-organise Applied Startup Technology & Research Accelerator (ASTRA) Singapore 2026. At this inaugural event, trailblazers at the cutting edge of semiconductors, embodied AI and industrial automation took the occasion in meeting with industry leaders to validate and co-develop their ideas.

As advanced manufacturing evolves, Enterprise Singapore will continue to support our startups and businesses to access more opportunities to grow and scale.

Special thanks to Aditya Mathur, Pranav Mehrotra, Om Nalamasu, Tim Deane, KC Ong, Brian Tan, Anand Kamannavar and our MD Cindy Khoo, for bringing their insights and expertise to the session.

Strength in numbers.

On 25 May, 50 F&B business owners and operators came together for a productivity masterclass organised by Grab Academy and Enterprise Singapore. This is part of our ongoing partnership with Grab to strengthen the resilience of Singapore's F&B sector.

Participants got to work through a hands-on diagnostic masterclass to pinpoint their inefficiencies and how to improve. They also exchanged notes with their industry peers to learn what has been useful in practice from digitalisation, smarter menu design, centralised production to workforce strategies.

Special thanks to our industry leaders Amanda Huang, Evelyn Hoh, Eugene Tan, Mickaël Cornac and Michael Tan who brought their expertise and candour to the session!

Resilience through reinvention.

Earlier this week at “Retail Reimagined: From Now to Next”, Senior Minister of State Low Yen Ling announced two initiatives to navigate the rapid changes in the retail landscape.

Retail IDP 3.0 – developed with Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore, is a refreshed digital roadmap that maps AI and digital solutions across end-to-end operations, making it easier for businesses to identify pain points and find the right tools to address them.

L^IFE Retail Accelerator at SCAPE – developed with the Singapore Retailers Association and Innovate360, is a two-year incubation programme supporting 16 promising local brands through subsidised space, mentorship, and capability-building workshops.

Enterprise Singapore has been continuously building new opportunities to inject greater vibrancy into Singapore’s retail ecosystem – from the revamp of Design Orchard, to precinct activations such as Find Your Folks in Jalan Besar, we’re here to support our businesses to thrive.

There’s new energy in the air.

Singapore companies are now part of the solution in Asia Pacific’s energy transition. From wind turbine installation vessels, offshore substations to mooring systems, we've supported enough offshore wind in the last two years to power close to 8 million households.

And we're not stopping there. This week, Singapore takes another leap, hosting the RECHARGE Wind Power Summit Asia-Pacific, bringing together 16 Singapore companies showcasing capabilities across the offshore wind value chain. The summit is part of a landmark series through 2029, including WindEnergy Asia-Pacific, WindEnergy Hamburg first expansion outside Europe.

The urgency is clear. The opportunity is real. And Singapore is ready.

One planet. All hands on deck.

At the GenZero Climate Summit 2026 today, the Action for a Resilient Climate (ARC) Coalition was launched.

The ARC Coalition is an industry-led, multi-sector initiative that will aggregate corporate demand for high-integrity carbon credits and channel finance into the climate projects that need it most. We are set to catalyse investment, strengthen global carbon markets, and help companies credibly advance their sustainability commitments.

Enterprise Singapore is proud to support the coalition together with Bain & Company, Carbon Growth Partners, CATL, Climate Bridge International, Climate Impact X, GenZero, Mitsubishi Corporation, Osaka Gas, Rubicon Carbon, Tencent 腾讯, Vale, and WWF-Singapore.

In this spirit, the ARC Coalition is partnering Symbiosis Coalition to identify areas of common interest, exchange best practices and promote robust approaches to carbon credit quality standards, due diligence and contracting practices.
