Bearing the footsteps of British Royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II herself, these historic tiles once lined the floors of Eden Hall, the British High Commissioner's Residence in Singapore. 🇬🇧🇸🇬

Today, thanks to the talented design students at LASALLE College of the Arts, they’ve been given a second life and transformed into a bespoke lamp. 💡 It's a true testament to the power of education, heritage and creative partnerships between the UK and Singapore.

Early this week we held a scholarship presentation ceremony for our Chevening scholars who will be heading to the UK to study this year. The Rhodes and LSE Trust Scholars were also celebrated at the event.

Last month, we hosted a team from the UK’s Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance College to deliver a training course to students from our regional geospatial partner nations. The training is part of a wider exchange of geospatial expertise with our regional partners, helping to support both defence cooperation and humanitarian and disaster relief efforts in the region

Innovate UK is investing up to £3 million to support collaborative industrial research and development projects between UK and Singapore businesses.

Eligible projects must focus on one of four priority areas:
🏭 Advanced Manufacturing
⚡ Clean Energy
🧬 Life Sciences
💻 Digital & Frontier Technologies

📅 Competition deadline: 16 December 2026 (11am GMT)
💰 UK grant requests: £100,000 to £900,000 per project
🤝 Lead applicants must be UK-registered businesses, collaborating with at least one Singapore-registered business partner.

We were delighted to support an evening aboard HMS Spey, bringing together representatives from government, defence, maritime and industry sectors to celebrate the partnership between UK Docks Marine Services and du Pré Marine.

HMS Spey is now the third Royal Navy vessel supported through the partnership, demonstrating the strength of UK-Singapore collaboration in maritime and defence capability across the Indo-Pacific.

We hosted a reception at Eden Hall last night to welcome & connect over 100 newly arrived British teachers in Singapore. 🇸🇬🇬🇧 It was a privilege to celebrate the strength of UK education, help build a strong support network, and connect everyone over shared experiences. And of course, we served fish and chips! 🐟
