Congrats, Team USA! Guests gathered at Ambassador Sinha's residence to watch the USA take on Paraguay and kick off our celebration of a Decade of Sports in America. As the United States prepares to host some of the world's biggest sporting events over the next ten years, we're excited to bring that spirit of competition and friendship to Singapore.

Sports have a unique way of bringing people together, and the event was a reminder of the strong connections between the United States and Singapore both on and off the field.

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau concluded a productive visit to Singapore, meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Coordinating Minister for National Security Minister K. Shanmugam, Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo, and Permanent Secretary Beh Swan Gin

The discussions highlighted the strength of the U.S.-Singapore partnership and the many opportunities for deeper cooperation in trade, technology, security, and regional prosperity.

Deputy Secretary Landau praised the meritocratic and service-oriented spirit championed by Lee Kuan Yew which still characterizes Singapore leaders today – exemplars of integrity, capability, and wisdom.

USCGC Midgett, one of the U.S. Coast Guard's National Security Cutters, is deployed to the Indo-Pacific to strengthen partnerships with regional coast guards and navies. While in Singapore, the crew engaged in multilateral exercises and exchanges with regional maritime forces, demonstrating our shared commitment to maritime security, search and rescue, and humanitarian assistance.
