From returning to school as an adult learner to graduating with Merit from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Zoey Zupri has shown that it's never too late to pursue your dreams. Her inspiring journey has earned her the Jamiyah Exemplary Young Mother Award and a cash prize of $2,000!

A mother of three, Zoey cares for her eldest son, who was diagnosed with Xia-Gibbs syndrome and autism. When she lost her job during the pandemic, she turned a difficult setback into an opportunity to pursue a dream she had long put on hold, returning to school after years spent caring for her younger siblings.

After enrolling in our Diploma in Applied Management for the Future Workplace through NP's CET Academy, Zoey secured an analyst role, earned a promotion, and graduated with Merit. Today, she is pursuing a bachelor's degree at the Singapore University of Social Sciences, continuing her lifelong learning journey.

Beyond her studies and family commitments, Zoey volunteers with the Rare Disease Society Singapore and the Singapore Youth Leadership Programme, extending her support to families and youths in the community.

Congratulations, Zoey, on this well-deserved recognition. Your resilience, determination and commitment to uplifting others continue to inspire us all.

NP wins big at PolyFintech100 Hackathon 2026, with our student teams taking home four of the five top awards at the Category Finals!

The annual hackathon challenges polytechnic students to tackle real-world problems from the financial services sector through innovation, mentorship and
industry exposure. This year, teams worked on problem statements set by CGS
International, NETS, Prudential, Singapore College of Insurance and OCBC.

Our students impressed industry judges with solutions that showcased not only
technical skills and creativity, but also a strong understanding of real business
and customer needs.

Their efforts paid off, with each winning team receiving a $2,500 cash prize and securing a spot at the Grand Finals of the Singapore FinTech Festival on 19
November.

Congratulations to all our students and mentors on this outstanding achievement. Wishing Team NP all the best for the finals!

Our award-winning hip-hop dance club has done it again! Congratulations to New Revolving Age (NRA) for successfully defending its Tertiary Champion title at SUPER24, Asia's largest mega crew dance competition.

Facing eight other teams, NRA had just 90 seconds to own an 8m × 8mstage and impress judges positioned on all four sides. The 24-member crew rose to the challenge with a winning performance that combined creativity, precision and seamless teamwork.

A well-deserved victory. Congratulations, NRA, on coming out on top yet again!

Congratulations to four of our students who emerged as Champions at the Green Bootcamp @ North West 2026, organised by North West Community Development Council!

Competing against the top 10 finalist teams from across Singapore's polytechnics and ITE, the team from NP’s School of Business & Accountancy clinched the top prize of S$2,000 for TOTEALLY, an innovative initiative designed to reduce reliance on single-use plastic bags.

Green Bootcamp @ North West challenges youths to develop practical solutions to real-world sustainability issues through design thinking, mentorship and prototype development.

Recognising that awareness does not always lead to action, the team developed a three-pronged approach centred on Redesign, Reward and Reinforce. Their concept combines a compact Clip & Carry reusable bag, a proposed rewards app and community-driven initiatives to make sustainable choices more convenient and rewarding.

Well done to our students! We look forward to seeing TOTEALLY showcased to the wider community at the North West Sustainability Festival in September.

Congratulations to Mis'Rohaiza Amin, from our School of Health Sciences, on receiving the President's Award for Teachers 2026, Singapore's highest accolade for educators!

A senior lecturer at NP and a palliative care specialist, Mis'Rohaiza has dedicated her career to preparing nurses for some of healthcare's most challenging and deeply human moments. Through innovative teaching approaches and her leadership in palliative care education, she has shaped both future nurses and the wider healthcare community.

From adapting the internationally recognised End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) curriculum for Singapore to spearheading NP's Advanced Diploma in Palliative Care Nursing, her impact extends far beyond the classroom.

Thank you, Mis'Rohaiza, for shaping generations of nurses and strengthening compassionate care across Singapore. 💚

A team of students from our School of Film & Media Studies has clinched First Runner-Up at the inaugural MALAM Projection Mapping Competition at Singapore Night Festival 2026.

After standing out among more than 50 submissions from across Southeast Asia, Team Petang, made up of students from our Diploma in Stage & Live Events*, was selected as one of 18 finalists to showcase its work on The Cathay's iconic facade. The team went on to emerge as the competition's only Singaporean winning team and took home a cash prize of $3,000.

Launched as part of this year's Singapore Night Festival, the competition invited artists and creatives from across the region to bring the festival's Myths and Legends theme to life through projection mapping. Team Petang's work stood out among entries showcased on the iconic facade of The Cathay, transforming the landmark into a canvas for storytelling, light and movement.

You can catch their award-winning projection in person at The Cathay as part of Singapore Night Festival until 5 September. A job well done, Team Petang!

Four accolades at the Facility Management Experts Summit 2026 put the spotlight on our Hotel & Leisure Facilities Management (HLFM) programme and the graduates making their mark in the industry.

Organised by Singapore International Facility Management Association (SIFMA), the summit celebrates excellence across the facilities management sector. NP’s School of Design & Environment received the Education & Development Initiative Award (Institute of Higher Learning) – Excellence, recognising HLFM's strong industry focus and hands-on approach to learning.

This impact can be seen in our graduates. At the summit, Xie Yushan took home the Student Award, while Angel Mah and Ho Min Xuan received Excellence honours. All three also stood out during their internships, translating classroom learning into real-world contributions in the workplace.

Congratulations to our graduates, educators and industry partners who continue to support the growth of future-ready FM talent!

When a fellow runner collapsed, our Nursing student Joshua Lim didn't think twice. His actions helped save a life and earned him the Minister for Home Affairs Public Spiritedness Award last month!

Joshua was 15km into his half marathon last year when he came across a runner who had collapsed. Finding that he was not breathing and had no pulse, he immediately began CPR while directing bystanders to call 995, alert the medical team and retrieve an AED.

The incident was not Joshua's first encounter with a medical emergency. Having served as a Search & Rescue medic during National Service, he discovered a passion for healthcare that would eventually lead him to pursue a Diploma in Nursing in NP.

Reflecting on the experience, Joshua shared, "I was reminded of the importance of having not only the courage to step up, but also the confidence to make decisions."

Congratulations, Joshua. Your courage, selflessness and presence of mind made all the difference when it mattered most.

This is art, empathy and connection beyond word. 🎨 Over five months, 20 volunteers from m52, NP’s community arts service club, worked with patients from Jurong Community Hospital to create Sweet Memories of Singapore – a mixed-media paper mosaic project inspired by familiar local food.

When language barriers arose, our students connected with the senior patients through gestures, familiar songs and shared experiences.

Led by Year 2 Diploma in Arts Business Management students, the team designed the mosaic templates, organised workshops and bedside sessions, and transformed the patients’ artworks into an exhibition. Along the way, students learnt to bridge linguistic and generational differences through creativity, empathy and collaboration.

The exhibition is on display at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital until December 2026 and will be featured at its Arts & Health Festival in October.

We’re proud to see Sweet Memories of Singapore featured in The Straits Times !

From protecting our coastlines and waterways to advancing environmental monitoring, four of our graduates are taking their passion for sustainability to the next level as recipients of this year's Singapore Sustainability Scholarship!

Congratulations to Cheryl Koh, Ayla Lo, Lincoln Heng and Maryam Saliha, graduates of NP's Diploma in Environmental & Water Technology (now known as Environmental Science & Sustainability), on this remarkable achievement.

As PUB scholars, they share a commitment to strengthening Singapore's water resilience and sustainability. Their interests span urban infrastructure, coastal protection, water systems and environmental monitoring, inspired by hands-on learning and industry experiences gained during their time at NP.

The scholarship recognises their academic excellence, dedication and potential to help address some of tomorrow's most pressing environmental challenges. We look forward to seeing the impact they will make in shaping a more sustainable future for Singapore.

The SS Scholarships were presented by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, at the award ceremony.

As schools explore how best to meaningfully integrate AI into teaching and learning, we were glad to have the opportunity to share NP’s experiences and learning with fellow education leaders.

Yesterday, we welcomed 26 school leaders from MOE West 6 Cluster to NP for a Learning Journey on AI in Education. The session provided an opportunity to share what we have learnt from our own AI transformation journey, while exchanging perspectives on what AI means for teaching and learning.

Through presentations, discussions and a learning tour, participants gained insights into how NP is approaching AI at both the organisational and classroom levels, from building staff capabilities and fostering an AI-ready culture to rethinking curriculum and assessment for an AI-enabled future.

Our Principal & CEO, Kok Kiang Lim, and Senior Director & Registrar and Director of NP's Centre for Learning & Teaching Excellence, Lynn Fong, shared leadership perspectives on navigating AI adoption, including the opportunities and challenges involved, as well as lessons we have learnt along the way.

At our School of InfoComm Technology - Ngee Ann Polytechnic, participants also saw how AI is being translated into teaching practice. This included NP's PAIR (Problem, AI, Interaction, Reflection) framework, which guides students to engage with AI critically, responsibly and effectively as part of their learning.

As AI continues to evolve, exchanges like these provide valuable opportunities for educators to share what is working, learn from one another, and consider how we can best prepare our learners for the future.

Thank you to the school leaders for the thoughtful questions, rich discussions and valuable exchange of perspectives!
