📣2026 Presidential Hackathon International Track has kicked off the application up until 5PM (GMT+8) on July 31!💻

🤖With the challenge theme, Digital Inclusion in the AI Era, it will be about promoting Digital Inclusion and bringing AI and digital technologies closer to everyone by enabling people of different ages, regions, and need to access technology and participate in digital services on equal footing, thereby narrowing the digital divide and ensuring all can share in the benefits of the intelligent era.

The Presidential Hackathon International Track debuted in 2019, marking the eighth year of the event. People from all backgrounds, regardless of their age or nationality, are welcome to use open data, technology, and creative thinking to suggest solutions to societal problems that satisfy nations’ social and developmental needs worldwide. 💪🌍

Taiwan på fjärde plats i World Competitiveness Ranking 📊🌍



Taiwan klättrar till fjärde plats i den senaste upplagan av World Competitiveness Ranking från International Institute for Management Development (IMD). Detta är den högsta rankningen, som jämför 70 ekonomier utifrån faktorer så som ekonomisk utveckling, myndighetseffektivitet, företagsklimat och infrastruktur.



Rankningen kommer i en tid präglad av ökad geopolitisk osäkerhet, och IMD menar att institutionell motståndskraft och förmågan att hantera externa chocker nu är ännu viktigare än tidigare. Taiwans uppgång drivs bland annat av stark BNP-tillväxt och exportutveckling tillsammans med stabila förbättringar inom flera av rapportens centrala konkurrenskraftsindikatorer.



Singapore behåller förstaplatsen i den globala rankningen, följt av Hongkong och Schweiz. Taiwan tar fjärdeplatsen och placerar sig därmed före Förenade Arabemiraten, Danmark, Irland, Nederländerna, Sverige och USA.

Taiwan has reached fourth place in the latest World Competitiveness Ranking published by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), marking its highest position since joining the assessment. The ranking evaluates 70 economies across economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency, and infrastructure.

The improvement comes amid heightened geopolitical uncertainty, which the IMD says has increased the importance of institutional resilience and tolerance of external shocks. Taiwan's rise was supported by strong GDP growth and export performance, alongside steady gains across the report’s major competitiveness indicators.

Singapore retains the top overall spot, followed by Hong Kong and Switzerland, with Taiwan ranked fourth, ahead of the UAE, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the U.S.

🌊🌿2026 Taiwan East Coast Land Arts Festival 🌕🎶



This weekend, the 2026 Taiwan East Coast Land Arts Festival kicked off and welcomed visitors to experience Taiwan’s eastern coastline as a hub for art, culture and nature.



Organised along the scenic stretch between Hualien and Taitung, this year’s festival is presented under the theme “Body as Ocean”, highlighting the close relationship between people, the land and the sea.



The festival features large-scale land art installations distributed across coastal landscapes, as well as the signature Moonlit Sea Concerts, where performances take place in an open-air setting with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop.



Through the integration of contemporary art, music and the unique coastal environment, the festival offers an opportunity to experience the east coast in a unique and immersive way.

I helgen började 2026 års Taiwan East Coast Land Arts Festival och välkomnade besökare att uppleva Taiwans östkust som en hubb för konst, kultur och natur.



Festivalen arrangeras längs den natursköna kuststräckan mellan Hualien och Taitung och presenteras i år under temat ”Body as Ocean”, som lyfter det täta samspelet mellan människan, landskapet och havet.



Festivalen omfattar storskaliga konstinstallationer som integrerats i kustlandskapet, samt de uppskattade Moonlit Sea Concerts där föreställningarna äger rum under bar himmel med Stilla havet som kuliss.



Genom att förena samtidskonst, musik och kustlandskap erbjuder festivalen en unik och immersiv upplevelse av Taiwans östkust.

Ambassador Phoebe Yeh, Representative of Taipei Mission in Sweden paid her first visit to The Swedish Institute of International Affairs(UI) on June 22 and was warmly received by experts led by Director Jakob Hallgren. Both sides had wonderful exchanges on UI's research, Taiwan issues and US-China relations.

Four Taiwanese Universities Ranked Among the World's Top 200 – A Record High!

The QS World University Rankings 2027, released on June 18, 2026, evaluated a total of 8,808 universities worldwide, up from 8,467 institutions in the previous year.

Taiwan achieved a new milestone, with four universities ranked among the world's top 200:

National Taiwan University (NTU) – 54th
National Tsing Hua University – 142nd
National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University – 177th
National Cheng Kung University – 191st

Among them, NTU achieved its highest ranking ever, climbing nine places from 63rd in QS 2026 to 54th globally this year.

Sweden also delivered an outstanding performance, with three universities ranked among the world's top 100:
✨Lund University – 71st, once again ranked as Sweden’s No. 1 university and achieving the world's top position in the Sustainability Indicator.

✨ KTH Royal Institute of Technology – 82nd

✨ Uppsala University – 87th

Congratulations to all these outstanding institutions for their achievements in higher education, research excellence, and sustainable development, and best wishes for continued success in cultivating global talent and advancing international collaboration!

台灣4大學挺進世界前200名，刷新紀錄。

QS 2027世界大學排名於2026年6月18日正式公布，評比大學數量從上年度的8467間成長到今年的8808所。台灣共有4所大學進入全球前200名，分別是國立台灣大學(第54名)，清華大學（第142名）、陽明交通大學（第177名）、成功大學（第191名）。而國立台灣大學排名54名，為歷來最佳成績，較上年度QS 2026的63名前進9名。

瑞典則共有 3 所大學躋身全球前 100 强: 分別是隆德大学Lund University(第71名)，皇家理工学院KTH（第 82 名）和烏普薩拉大學Uppsala University（第 87 名）。其中，隆德大学 以全球第 71 位的排名，再度蟬聯瑞典全國世界排名第一大學，該校在“可持續發展指標”上更是榮登全球第 1 名。

On June 14, Ambassador Phoebe Yeh attended the “2026 Dragon Boat Festival Gathering in Sweden,” organized by the Formosa Taiwan, joining Taiwanese community members in Sweden to celebrate the warm and lively Dragon Boat Festival.

Ambassador Yeh expressed her appreciation to the Formosa Taiwan for its longstanding efforts in bringing the overseas Taiwanese community together, promoting community exchanges, and strengthening connections between Taiwan and Swedish society. She noted that the association is not only an important partner of the Taipei Mission in Sweden, but also a vital bridge for people-to-people exchanges between Taiwan and Sweden, helping more Swedish friends better understand and support Taiwan.

The event showcased the Taiwanese community’s dedication to preserving and passing down traditional culture. Filled with warmth and festive spirit, the celebration brought an added sense of home to the Dragon Boat Festival in Sweden.
