🇭🇺🕯️ Június 16. az 1956-os forradalom és szabadságharc mártírjainak – Nagy Imre, Gimes Miklós, Losonczy Géza, Maléter Pál és Szilágyi József – emléknapja. Ez a nap egyszerre jelképezi az 1958-as kivégzésük gyásznapját és az 1989-es, történelmi jelentőségű újratemetésüket.

Az Országgyűlés Nagy Imre és mártírtársai újratemetésének évfordulóján a nemzeti és történelmi zászlók jelenlétében emlékezett meg az 1956-os hősökről.

🇭🇺🕯️ June 16 is the memorial day of the martyrs of the 1956 Revolution and War of Independence – Imre Nagy, Miklós Gimes, Géza Losonczy, Pál Maléter and József Szilágyi. The day marks both the tragedy of their ex*****on in 1958 and their historically significant reburial in 1989.

On the anniversary of the reburial of Imre Nagy and his fellow martyrs, the National Assembly commemorated the heroes of 1956 in the presence of the national and historical flags.

The ADS Beer and Food Fair was launched in 2002 to bring together Stockholm-based embassies from all geographical regions, offering a unique platform to showcase their national beers, and in recent years, traditional cuisine and snacks. This quarter-century-old tradition is proudly nurtured by the Stockholm diplomatic community, with the dedicated support of the Association of Diplomats Stockholm (ADS) and the British Embassy.

For the past three years, Hungary has been represented by one of the most innovative craft breweries in the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region, Horizont Craft Brewery. For more information on the brewery, see the first comment.

This Friday, the Hungarian Team achieved outstanding success by winning the prestigious 3rd prize with Night Shift – an Imperial Pastry Stout aged in Bourbon barrels with hazelnut and caramel.

This year, the following embassies participated as competitors, presenting their finest selection of beers: Australia, Austria, China, Czechia, Ethiopia, Finland, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Mexico, Namibia, Serbia, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan. Numerous other embassies also joined the event as enthusiastic tasters and voters.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous host, the British Embassy, and to the devoted organizers at the Association of Diplomats Stockholm.

Isten éltesse a megalakulásának 30. évfordulóját ünneplő UHU - Stockholmi Magyar Családi Kör !

Az UHU tevékenységével több évtizede támogatja a stockholmi magyar családokat és gyerekeket a magyar nyelv megőrzésében, identitásuk erősítésében és az anyaországgal való kapcsolatok ápolásában.

A jubileumot ünneplő, egyben tanévzáró családi rendezvényen Palóczi Péter nagykövet is köszöntötte a résztvevőket, és elismerő oklevelet adott át az egyesület vezetőjének, Dorogi Lászlónak, megköszönve az egyesület vezetőinek és tagjainak több évtizedes kitartó és értékteremtő munkáját.

Tisztelet és köszönet mindenkinek, aki az elmúlt 30 évben hozzájárult ahhoz, hogy egy olyan közösséget teremtsenek, ahol a magyar családok és gyerekek otthon érezhetik magukat.

🇭🇺🇸🇪 Happy 30th anniversary to UHU!

For decades, UHU, the Hungarian community responsible for children’s activities has supported Hungarian families and children in Stockholm by helping preserve the Hungarian language, strengthen cultural identity, and maintain ties with the motherland.

At the family event celebrating not only the jubilee but also the end of school year, Ambassador Péter Palóczi greeted the participants as well and presented a certificate of recognition to the association’s leader, László Dorogi, expressing gratitude for the decades of dedicated and value‑creating work carried out by the association’s leaders and members.

A huge thanks to everyone who has contributed over the past 30 years to building a community where Hungarian families and children can feel at home.

We wish you many more shared experiences and successful decades ahead!

🇸🇪👑 On June 13, Sweden celebrates a truly historic milestone as King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia mark their 50th wedding anniversary with special public celebrations in Stockholm.

On the occasion, Ambassador Péter Palóczi had the honour of signing the congratulatory book at the Royal Palace.

🇸🇪👑 Június 13-án Svédország egy igazán történelmi mérföldkövet ünnepel: XVI. Károly Gusztáv király és Szilvia királyné 50. házassági évfordulóját számos programmal Stockholmban.

Az évforduló alkalmából Palóczi Péter nagykövet is kifejezte jókívánságait a Királyi Palotában.

👒🎶 Nők ünneplése – Idén Nagykövetségünk adott otthont a Stockholmi Nemzetközi Női Klub (International Women’s Club of Stockholm – IWC) éves Kalap és Kerti Partijának. Ez a rangos szervezet, mely idén ünnepelte fennállásának 65. évfordulóját, különböző hátterű hölgyeket hoz össze egy pezsgő és sokszínű közösséggé. Az eseményen több női nagykövetet és a Nagykövetek Házastársainak Szervezetének (Ambassadors’ Spouse Assotiation of Stockholm - ASAS) tagjait is köszönthettük.

Palóczi Péter nagykövet beszédében kiemelte a nők szerepének jelentőségét életünk minden területén. Marie Stenluv, az IWC elnöke beszélt a Kalap Party hagyományáról, valamint a vendégeket a nagykövet felesége, Palóczi-Nagy Szilvia is köszöntötte, aki mind az IWC, mind az ASAS aktív tagja. Ezt követően a közönség egy rövid kulturális műsort élvezhetett a Duo Bokor/Tchaikowsky előadásában, amely a magyar zeneszerzők munkásságát állította középpontba.
Az esemény kiváló alkalmat teremtett a kötetlen beszélgetésekre, új kapcsolatok kialakítására, valamint a magyar kultúra egy szeletének bemutatására a jelenlévő hölgyeknek.

👒🎶 Celebrating women – This year our Embassy hosted the annual Hats and Garden Party of the International Women’s Club of Stockholm (IWC). This prestigeous organisations that celebrated it’s 65th aniversary this year collects women from various backgrounds creating a lively community. We also welcomed several women ambassadors and members of the Ambassadors’ Spouse Assotiation of Stockholm at the event.

Ambassador Peter Palóczi highlighted in his speech the importance of women in every field of our lives. Mrs Marie Stenluv, the president of the IWC talked about the tradition of the Hat Party, and finally the guests were greeted by the wife of the Ambassador, Mrs Szilvia Palóczi-Nagy, who is an active member of both the IWC and ASAS. Then the audience enjoyed a short cultural performance from Duo Bokor/Tchaikowsky highlighting the work of Hungarian composers.
This event was a great opportunity to mingle, make new connections and show a piece of Hungarian culture to many lovely ladies.

Palóczi Péter nagykövet és felesége, Szilvia június 6-án részt vettek a svéd nemzeti ünnep alkalmából szervezett stockholmi központi megemlékezésen, majd az azt követő fogadáson a Királyi Palotában. Az ünnepséget a királyi család, a svéd Riksdag és a kormány képviselői, valamint a diplomáciai testület jelenlétében tartották.

A svéd nemzeti ünnepet 1893 óta minden évben a Skansenben ünneplik meg, és 2005 óta hivatalos ünnepnap június 6-a.

Boldog nemzeti ünnepet, Svédország!

Ambassador Péter Palóczi and his wife, Szilvia, attended the central celebration of Sweden’s National Day in Stockholm on 6 June, followed by a reception at the Royal Palace. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Royal Family, representatives of the Swedish Riksdag and government, as well as members of the diplomatic corps.

Sweden’s National Day has been commemorated at Skansen every year since 1893, and was designated a public holiday in 2005.

Since 1983, Sweden has officially celebrated its National Day on 6 June — a date that marks two defining moments in the nation's history: the election of Gustav Vasa as king in 1523, laying the foundation for modern Sweden, and the adoption of a new constitution in 1809, enshrining civil rights and democracy.
