Congratulations to Moroti Adegboyega from St. John's, NL, winner of the 2026 Stockholm Junior Water Prize, presented in Stockholm by H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria!

Moroti's innovative project, Ecoferroquatics, uses AI and magnetic technology to help remove plastic pollution from water while protecting aquatic ecosystems.

Congratulations to the 2026 Canadian recipient of the Raoul Wallenberg Academy’s Young Courage Award, 15-year-old Camden Scribe, from Saskatoon! The Young Courage Award honors young people driving positive change around the world. Camden has shown leadership and moral courage in his community, strengthening Indigenous voices, standing against bullying and improving student safety. We look forward to seeing him in Stockholm next week!

Saskatoon Teenager to Receive Raoul Wallenberg Academy’s Young Courage Award in Stockholm, Sweden!

The Young Courage Award honors young people driving positive change around the world. The 2026 Canadian recipient is 15-year-old Camden Scribe, from Saskatoon. He will travel to Stockholm for the Award Ceremony on August 27, meeting with other changemakers from all over the world, and walking in Raoul Wallenberg’s footsteps.

Camden has shown leadership and moral courage in his community, strengthening Indigenous voices, standing against bullying and improving student safety. He also is a prominent young Indigenous traditional dancer who served as the Head Young Man Dancer at the Manito Ahbee Powwow. As a traditional dancer, he wears his hair in braids, a practice deeply connected to the broader "Boys with Braids" movement.

Raoul Wallenberg is Canada’s first honorary citizen, designated in 1985. A Swedish diplomat, Raoul Wallenberg is recognized for his moral courage. In 1944 he saved thousands of Hungarian Jews from the Holocaust, providing protective passports and shelter. He disappeared in January 1945, at the age of 32, and is presumed to have been executed in Soviet custody.

The Raoul Wallenberg Academy, in collaboration with the Svenska institutet and several Swedish embassies around the world, is proud to announce that this year’s award has reached more countries than ever before. The award recognizes young people aged 13 to 20 who, despite limited resources, have acted in the spirit of Raoul Wallenberg through exceptional courage and outstanding initiative. The award recipients were selected from nominations submitted by private citizens and institutions across 15 countries: Australia, Canada, Greece, Hungary, Monaco, Montenegro, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Sweden, Tanzania, Uganda, and the United States.

We are very proud of all Young Courage Award winners and wish Camden and his fellow award recipients a lovely time in Stockholm! Congratulations!
