KTH Action Group for Academic Boycott of Israel We work for the academic and cultural boycott of Israel in response to the call from Palestinian civil society of 2004 and as an instrument for peace.

Action Group at KTH for Boycott of Israel

The group is a politically and religiously independent group of students and staff at KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) working in favour of a boycott of Israel with the purpose to end colonial occupation of Palestinian land and the violation of human rights as expressed in the UN Charter and the Geneva Convention of 1949. Boycott actions include the br

eaking of academic ties with Israeli universities, breaking relations with professional bodies which have not disassociated themselves from Israel’s violations of human rights. Anyone who wants to work actively for these aims is welcome to join the group. The group is not a formal part of KTH, but advocates that KTH must apply its stated ethical policy “based on democracy, people’s equal rights, human rights and a free and open discussion, equal opportunity between women and men, and rejection of all forms of discrimination” (University Board 2008-10-21). Demonstrations against Israel's war against Gaza continue all around Sweden. I am proud to be allowed to speak at the demonstration at Sergels torg in Stockholm yesterday. I talked about boycott of Israel as a constructive and peaceful way to make Israel end its occupation of Palestine, dismantle its apartheid policy and allow Palestinian refugees to return to their country. The demand for boycott is spreading around the world. Israeli academics have started to feel the pain to the extent that thousands of them abandon Tel Aviv for other cities with more democratic and cultural freedom - including Berlin!

Yesterday a magnificent demonstration was held in Stockholm against Israel's genocidal war against Gaza. The demonstration attraced thousands of peopole, whose main slogans were "Israel - murgerer", "Palestine Solidarity", "Carl Bildt (foreign minister) - Hypocrite". Aktionsgruppen på KTH för Bojkott av Israel kräver i en skrivelse till Universitetsstyrelsen att KTH skall omvärdera att Bill Gates utnämndes till hedersdoktor 2002.
