Training in Action in Brazil!

From April 27 to May 1, Dafo Vehicle AB successfully delivered a Fire Protection Train‑the‑Trainer session for HDME in Brazil.
Hosted by Testato in Nova Lima, the week combined theory, hands‑on training, and valuable knowledge exchange — all aimed at strengthening fire protection expertise across our LATAM distributor network.

The training covered:
✅ Risk assessment
✅ System design & retrofit installation
✅ Service & maintenance
✅ Fire investigation

Led by our expert trainer Christian Karlsson and organized by
Marcello Sanchez, Senior Business Development Manager – LATAM, the session resulted in:
👉 5 newly certified Train‑the‑Trainer technicians (Brazil, Chile, Peru)
👉 9 additional participants from Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay expanding their expertise
This initiative reflects our commitment to building strong local capabilities and ensuring high standards of fire protection throughout the region.
A big thank you to everyone involved — and to our partners at Testato for a great collaboration!

Vehicle fires in forestry are more common than you think—are you prepared?

Working in tough environments means your machines face higher fire risks every day. The good news? A few proactive steps can make a big difference 👇

✅ Keep machines clean
Remove dry debris, dust, and oil buildup—these can ignite بسرعة in hot areas.

✅ Do regular inspections
Hydraulic hoses, fuel lines, and electrical systems should be checked often to catch issues early.

✅ Install fire suppression systems
Automatic systems act fast—detecting and stopping fires before they spread.

✅ Prioritize operator safety
Clear alerts and safety systems help operators react quickly and safely.

✅ Avoid overheating
Maintain cooling systems and airflow, especially during long, heavy-duty operations.

A safer machine means safer people—and better protection for our forests.

Passenger safety isn’t optional—it’s everything.

Every time someone steps onto a bus, they’re placing trust in the operator behind the wheel and the systems behind the scenes. Trust that they’ll arrive safely, no matter what happens along the way.

But real safety goes beyond ticking boxes ✔️

It’s about being prepared when the unexpected happens—and that requires a layered approach:

- Fire suppression systems – Fires can escalate fast. Having the right system in place (and properly maintained) can stop an incident before it becomes critical.

- Driver training – Your drivers are your first responders. Are they trained to act quickly and confidently in high-pressure situations?

- Evacuation readiness – Clear procedures, accessible exits, and informed passengers can save lives.

- Using data to improve – Learning from incidents and near-misses helps prevent future risks.

- Shared responsibility – Safety isn’t one team’s job—it’s everyone’s.

The truth? Incidents don’t wait. They test how prepared you really are.

👉 So ask yourself: Are your safety measures built to pass inspections… or to truly protect people?

Let’s raise the standard together.

If you’re reviewing your fire safety or driver training programs, now is the time to act.

A single spark can bring everything to a halt.

In mining and construction, heavy machinery doesn’t just wear down — it operates under constant fire risk.

We’ve seen it happen: a small hydraulic leak meets a hot surface… and within minutes, a multi-million-euro machine is in flames.

The consequences are real:
⚠️ Production stops instantly
⚠️ Operators are put at serious risk
⚠️ Equipment losses skyrocket
⚠️ Delays lead to penalties

And the truth? This isn’t rare.

But here’s the difference-maker:
In one case, a properly installed fire suppression system detected and stopped the fire before it spread — turning a potential disaster into a minor incident.

The difference: preparedness.

If your fleet operates in high-risk environments, fire suppression isn’t optional — it’s essential.

Let’s talk about how you can protect your equipment, your team, and your uptime. https://www.dafo-vehicle.com/segments/mining-and-construction

A vehicle fire can escalate in seconds — is your equipment protected?

In industries like mining, construction, waste management, and logistics, heavy equipment operates in extreme conditions where heat, fuel, and hydraulic systems are constantly interacting.

The reality:

⚠️ Equipment fires can spread in less than 2 minutes
⚠️ Many major losses happen because fires aren’t suppressed early enough
⚠️ A single vehicle fire can lead to massive repair costs and costly downtime

That’s why vehicle fire suppression systems are essential.

Unlike handheld extinguishers, automatic suppression systems detect and suppress fires instantly, even if the operator cannot react in time.

They help organizations:
✅ Protect operators and personnel
✅ Prevent catastrophic equipment loss
✅ Reduce downtime and operational disruption
✅ Strengthen overall safety across the fleet

When seconds matter, early suppression makes all the difference.

Safety first – but when did you last review your fire protection strategy?

In environments like mining, construction, material handling and public transport, fire safety isn’t just about compliance. It’s about protecting people, operations and long-term investments.

With new battery technologies, changing regulations and increasingly demanding operating conditions, fire risks are evolving. That means your fire protection strategy should evolve too.

A few questions worth asking:

✔ Does your current system reflect today’s risks?
✔ Are you prepared for upcoming regulatory changes?
✔ Do you have early detection in place?
✔ Is your team trained and ready to act?

Fire suppression systems are not just equipment — they are part of your operational resilience.

Take a moment to review your fire protection strategy. Proactive decisions today can prevent costly disruptions tomorrow.

We’re proud to share that Dafo Vehicle Fire Protection is now certified in compliance with UAE.S 5041:2021 – the mandatory UAE standard for fire suppression systems in the engine compartments of buses and coaches.

This regulation is designed to enhance public transport safety across the UAE and applies to vehicles carrying more than 22 passengers. It requires rigorous testing of fire suppression systems, including fire performance, vibration resistance and temperature endurance. All certification is conducted by the Emirates Safety Laboratory (ESL).

Engine compartment fires can develop rapidly and pose serious risks to passengers, drivers and operators. Meeting UAE.S 5041:2021 confirms that our systems are tested and approved to perform reliably under demanding conditions.

For operators and OEMs in the region, compliance is about more than regulation — it’s about protecting people, safeguarding assets and ensuring operational continuity.

We’re proud to support safer public transport in the UAE and beyond.

If you would like to learn more about what this certification means for your vehicles or projects, feel free to reach out to our team.
