Each year, thousands of participants in over 30 countries all around the globe join national competitions in hopes of earning the chance to represent their nation at the international final held during the World Water Week in Stockholm. The national and international competitions are open to young people between the ages of 15 and 20 who have conducted water-related projects of proven environmenta

l, scientific, social or technological significance. The projects range from local or regional to national or global topics.

Have you ever thought how far can take you?

We recently received this very touching testimonial from Fabrice Fanou-Ziaka, who represented in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition in 2004.

20 years later, he's organizing national competitions in his country, and has developed a project to support students pursue their passion for environmental solutions.

”Participating in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize is more than just a competition. It is a transformative experience that challenges young people to think critically about global challenges and take action locally.” says Fabrice.

Today, we want to celebrate brilliant young minds dedicated to solve challenges.

2023 Stockholm Junior Water Prize winner, Naomi Park shares about how hand cramps in third grade sparked an interest in scientific research. ✍🏼 💦 🔬

Her curiosity led her to become interested about bigger problems like rising sea-levels in Connecticut, where she comes from.

DropDrop educates individual on water conservation and management through immerse experience and interactive tool. By using this educative tool, we create awareness about Water scarcity and promote sustainable practices. Meet Shanni Valeria Mora Fajardo and Rosa Mendoza Sosa, representing for this year competition.

Shanni and Rosa are treating the water used in their indigenous community to dye textiles with ancestral techniques, to make it usable for watering plants.

Their project is leading the way to a circular economy by employing the treated water in small-scale farming and ensure safe, affordable, and sustainable food.
