📣 Interreg Aurora projects!
It is time to start planning your Interreg Cooperation Day events 🤩

Interreg Cooperation Day is back. Plan your event now!

Every September, Interreg programmes across Europe organise events to bring cooperation closer to the people who benefit from it. That's what Cooperation Day is all about.

This year's theme is Stronger Together!

Whether it's a sports event, a cultural celebration, a nature activity or a community workshop, there's no wrong way to do it. You have from August to October to make it happen.

Everything you need is already there: guide, visuals, promotional video and a Facebook boosting initiative. All ready to use.

Not sure where to start? Join the webinar on 12 June: Participant Experience: Making your event memorable. Practical tips and good practices to help you plan an event that people will actually remember.

Webinar on the Critical Position of the Kven Language on June 8 2026, 7–8 PM (Norwegian time) 💻

The Kven language is in a critical position. Despite increased recognition, there is still insufficient recruitment of teachers, limited availability of teaching materials, and insufficient visibility in Norwegian society.

The Interreg Aurora-funded Roots and Future project will organize a webinar on June 8 from 8–9 PM (Finnish time), 7–8 PM (Norwegian and Swedish time). The programme includes:

State Secretary Sigrid Ina Simonsen from the Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development presenting the Kven language plan published on May 26, 2026.

Historian from UiT – The Arctic University of Norway and Vice Chair of the Norwegian Kven Association, Rune Sundelin, providing deeper insight into the topic.

The rights of the Kven people are enshrined in Norwegian legislation and international conventions and are intended to safeguard language, culture, and livelihoods.

The webinar will be held in Norwegian. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions. The event arrangements are handled by Alta kvenske språksenter.

Every place has a story – using storytelling to turn places into experiences ⭐

In this online event, you can learn more about the power of storytelling in companies and communities that operate in old buildings.

A storytelling expert will share why stories matter, how they create emotional connections, and why historic environments offer unique potential for compelling narratives. The programme also includes real-life examples of businesses that have successfully built stories around old buildings to strengthen their brand, visibility and customer experience.

The event concludes with practical, easy-to-use exercises for developing and refining your own business story.

The event is open to anyone interested in using storytelling as a powerful marketing tool, but especially for businesses and communities using historic buildings as part of their operations.

Inari and Ume Sámi Online tools – Event 5 June 2026 Yearly Sámi Language Technology Conference 🎧

The project’s first Yearly Sámi Language Technology Conference, planned to take place at Sajos (Inari) on 5 June 2026. The event will be organised in a hybrid format, free of charge and open to all interested participants, with the programme also broadcast online to enable participation from geographically remote communities.

The purpose of the conference is to share progress from the project’s technical and linguistic work (covering both Inari Saami and Ume Saami), place the results in a broader revitalisation and language-technology context, and create a structured forum for dialogue with stakeholders and interested audiences. The conference will also provide an opportunity to gather feedback and ideas that can support further development during the next reporting periods.

Arctic Electronic Music Meetup 2026 is coming to Luleå! 🎼

From 28–30 May 2026, Arctic Pulse and Norrbottensmusiken will bring together DJs, producers, organisers, labels, festivals and other music professionals from northern Sweden, Norway and Finland for Arctic Electronic Music Meetup (AEM) 2026.

AEM 2026 is a three-day meeting point for the electronic music scene in the Arctic region. The aim is to connect people across borders, create visibility for a growing but often underrepresented scene, and build space for new collaborations, ideas and future projects.

The programme will include talks, workshops, presentations, networking sessions and creative exchange between professionals working with electronic music in different parts of the North.

In connection with the meetup, we are also organising Electronic Producers Camp 2026 together with BD Pop and Joncell Productions. The camp gives electronic music producers the opportunity to create new music, explore different production techniques and present their work as part of AEM 2026.

Electronic music in the North exists across long distances, local scenes and small networks. With AEM 2026, we want to bring these people and places closer together — and show that the Arctic region has its own electronic music scene, energy and potential.

AEM 2026 is organised by Arctic Pulse and Norrbottensmusiken together with Kulturföreningen Kluster, in collaboration with Joncell Productions and with support from Interreg Aurora, Region Norrbotten and Luleå kommun.
