𝗕𝗜𝗗𝗔 𝗦𝗔 𝗝𝗘𝗗𝗗𝗔𝗛 | 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆
When teaching is guided by compassion, it does more than impart knowledge—it inspires hope, builds confidence, and transforms lives.
For Teacher Cristina “Cristy” Dela Cruz, more than a profession, teaching is a calling to serve. From her years of experience in the classroom to her volunteer work in the Filipino community, she continues to generously share her time, knowledge, and compassion with fellow Filipinos and young learners in Jeddah.
Teacher Cristy is one of the pioneering volunteers of the 𝗞𝗔𝗥𝗨𝗡𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, an initiative of the Philippine International School Teachers Association (PISTA) dedicated to providing learning opportunities to distressed Overseas Filipino Workers and children staying at the Bahay Kalinga Shelter. Through PISTA, Teacher Cristy and her fellow educators have extended their commitment beyond teaching. Their example of service has inspired other Filipino organizations in Jeddah to share their time, resources, and blessings with less fortunate members of the community. These collective efforts embody one of the most cherished Filipino values—𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗻: coming together, lending a hand, and uplifting one another, especially in times of need.
The journey is not without challenges, but Teacher Cristy continues to persevere. For her, the true reward of service cannot be measured by how much they give, but by what they receive in return—the heartfelt gratitude, renewed hope, and smiles of those whose lives they have touched.
In those moments, she is reminded that sometimes, those who give discover that they receive even more.
