The Embassy of Malta in Saudi Arabia wishes to inform the public that it will be temporarily closed from Sunday, 26 July 2026, through Saturday, 15 August 2026, inclusive, due to ongoing renovation works at its premises.

During this period, consular services will be unavailable. Information regarding the resumption of normal operations will be communicated in due course via the Embassy's official channels.

The Embassy of Malta extends its warm wishes to all those celebrating Eid.

Please note that the Embassy will be closed for the Eid holidays from 28 May 2026 until 1 June 2026, and will reopen on 2 June 2026.

The Embassy thanks the public for their understanding and wishes everyone a peaceful and joyful Eid holiday.

Security Advisory – Embassy of Malta in Saudi Arabia

The Embassy of Malta in Saudi Arabia has issued a shelter-in-place advisory for Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran. We recommend that Maltese citizens in the Kingdom shelter in place immediately.

Maltese nationals in Saudi Arabia are advised to remain vigilant, review their travel plans for possible disruption, and take appropriate measures to ensure their personal safety and that of their families. Crises can develop rapidly, and having a personal safety plan in place is strongly recommended.

Recommended actions:
• Shelter in place where possible.
• Monitor official information sources and security updates.
• Avoid demonstrations, large gatherings, and areas with a heavy security presence.
• Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
• Follow the instructions of the Saudi authorities.

A significant increase in regional tensions is currently being experienced across the Middle East and the Gulf region. Further escalation may result in travel disruptions and other unforeseen impacts.

The Embassy of Malta in Saudi Arabia advises Maltese nationals in Saudi Arabia to exercise caution and take sensible precautions, taking into account their individual circumstances.

Maltese nationals residing in Bahrain are advised to consider sheltering in place and to follow the instructions issued by local authorities.

The Embassy of Malta informs the esteemed public that during the holy month of Ramadan it will observe the following working hours: Sunday to Thursday, from 10:00 to 13:30.

Please note that the Embassy will be closed on Sunday, 22 February 2026, in observance of Saudi Founding Day.
