In this regard, Rwanda launched the One Laptop Per Child program (OLPC) in June 2008 and the current proposed target is to provide all students from Primary 4 to Primary 6 access to XO laptops. One key fact is that One Laptop per Child project covers several NICI plan (National ICT Strategy) objectives. After two years, both the Ministry of Education and the OLPC team have had the great privilege

to witness the possibilities of these powerful uses from smaller learning moments to large-scale change--from the young girl who, after realizing her capabilities on the laptop, becomes more empowered to succeed, to the school that realizes they need to change their method of teaching to become more engaging and learner-centered. The OLPC Rwanda deployed 3682 XO laptops to several schools including GS.Gihira, CS.Kanyundo, CS.Rusamaza, EP.Ntendezi ... etc.

MUHANGA - the Ministry of Education has given 492 laptops to Ruli ADEPR Primary School in Muhanga District, in a bid to increase ICT pe*******on in rural schools.

The laptops were handed over by Caritas Kanizio, an official from the Ministry of Education.

The laptops were given to pupils between primary 4 to primary 6, as part of the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) programme.
