Today, Minister of State Col. Claudien Bizimungu held discussions with members of the Rwanda Institute of Architects (RIA) to explore ways to further strengthen and advance the architecture profession in Rwanda.

The discussions focused on key challenges facing the profession, as well as practical strategies to address them and promote continued growth and professional excellence.

Minister of State Col. Claudien Bizimungu urged architects to strengthen collaboration and foster greater coordination within the profession, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high professional standards and contributing to the quality, sustainability and transformation of Rwanda’s built environment.

Today: The Ministry of Infrastructure, in partnership with development partners in the urbanization sector, convened a three-day Capacity Building Workshop in
Musanze district aimed at strengthening district-level leadership and technical capacity to design and implement high-quality nature-based solutions that enhance climate resilience, promote sustainable urbanization, and drive inclusive local economic development.

The workshop brought together district-level leaders from across the country, including Vice Mayors in charge of Economic Development, representatives of One Stop Centres, and other stakeholders involved in environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The workshop provided a valuable platform for participants to share experiences, exchange knowledge, and engage in constructive discussions on practical approaches to advancing climate-resilient, inclusive, and sustainable development at the local level.

Today, the Minister of State Armand Zingiro
officially opened the Clean Energy Conference Australia Africa in Kigali, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, investors, development partners, and energy experts to advance dialogue on clean energy development.

In his remarks, he underscored the importance of strengthening global partnerships, accelerating innovation, and mobilizing investments to advance a just, inclusive, and sustainable energy transition.

He also highlighted Rwanda's remarkable progress in expanding electricity access to 85.4% of households and reaffirmed the country's ambition to achieve universal access by 2029 while increasing renewable energy to at least 60% of the energy mix by 2030.

He called for stronger partnerships, innovative financing, and increased investment to unlock Africa's vast clean energy potential and accelerate a just and inclusive energy transition.

Today, the Minister of State, Col. Claudien Bizimungu, presided over the official handover ceremony between Brig. Gen. Innocent Munyengango, who was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Aviation Travel and Logistics (ATL), and Mr. Jules Muheto Ndenga, the outgoing Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Jules Muheto Ndenga was recently appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Airport City.

In his remarks, the Minister of State congratulated both leaders on their new appointments and wished them success in their respective roles.

He encouraged them to continue promoting excellence in service delivery and advancing the aviation sector to further support Rwanda's economic growth and national development.

Today, Minister of State Col. Claudien Bizimungu visited Vision City Phase II and Batsinda II (Heza Estate) to assess the progress of housing and supporting infrastructure works, while engaging stakeholders on measures to accelerate project delivery.

Vision City Phase II, a 40-hectare mixed-use development, is expected to deliver nearly 1,500 residential units.

Batsinda Heza Estate ,comprising 548 housing units across 18 residential blocks, is designed to accommodate more than 2,000 residents.

These projects reaffirm the Government of Rwanda's commitment to expanding access to quality, affordable housing and promoting sustainable urban development for all.
