The 89th Know India Programme (KIP) for NRI, PIO and OCI Scholars and Innovators aged 18–23 years, is scheduled to be held in India from 15–29 September 2026.

The programme offers diaspora youth an opportunity to explore rich culture, civilizational heritage, history, traditions, diversity, innovation, scientific achievements, technological advancements, democratic values, and development towards Viksh*t Bharat @ 2047.

Last day for submission is 27 August 2026.

HCI, Kigali celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with traditional fervour and gaiety at a ceremony attended by a large gathering of the Indian community and Friends of India 🇮🇳 in Rwanda.

The programme began with a mass rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by hoisting of the tricolour by High Commissioner Mridu Pawan Das and singing of the National Anthem. Thereafter, High Commissioner read out excerpts from the Hon’ble President of India’s Address to the Nation. This was followed by a cultural event in which inter alia Community elders spoke about the significance of Independence Day, and how they have made Rwanda their home and contributed to its economic development . High Commissioner also distributed certificates to the winners of Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz and "Viksit Bharat 2047" painting competition.
