🤝 The Astrakhan Region has signed an agreement on cooperation with the SCO People's Diplomacy Center.

On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Governor of the Astrakhan Region, I.Yu. Babushkin, held a meeting with S.L. Korolev, Director of the National Center for People's Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

📝 During the meeting, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation, which will primarily focus on expanding the Astrakhan Region's ties with the SCO countries in the fields of culture, science, sports, and education. Additionally, the agreement aims to promote the development of people-to-people diplomacy between countries, the promotion of the Russian language abroad, and the preservation of the traditional values of the SCO nations.

🇷🇺 The SCO People's Diplomacy Center was established in June 2023 at the initiative and support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently, the Center's representative offices are successfully operating in the Republic of Crimea, the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Chelyabinsk Region, the Omsk Region, and the Leningrad Region.

🎨 Today Astrakhan Art School hosted the opening ceremony of the International Art Competition "Childhood is Peace and Joy".

The Consul General of Iran in Astrakhan, A. Heidarian, the Representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Astrakhan, O.Kolomin, and the Minister of Culture of the Astrakhan Region, O.Prokofieva, delivered welcoming speeches to the audience.

🖼 The participants of the competition will present drawings dedicated to the heroic pages of our history during the Great Patriotic War, the heroic deeds of our soldiers in Donbass, and the criminal aggression in the Iranian city of Minab, which resulted in the deaths of innocent children.

🌐 The event is open to creative teams from Iran, the Astrakhan Region, the Stavropol Territory, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Regions.

The competition is open to children aged 12 to 18 in the categories of painting, graphics, and composition. The competition will be concluded on September 15, 2026.

🇷🇺🇰🇿 The Republic of Kalmykia was visited by a delegation from the Atyrau Region of Kazakhstan, led by the Deputy Akim of the Atyrau Region M.Murziyev.

The Kazakhstani partners were honored guests of the XXVI Russian Exhibition of Breeding Sheep and Goats, which is currently taking place in Elista.

🤝 As part of their stay in the region, the Head of Kalmykia B.Khasikov held talks with the Kazakhstani delegation.

The meeting was attended by the Consul General of Kazakhstan in Astrakhan K.Khasenov, the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Kalmykia, A.Eteev, and the Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Representative Office in Astrakhan, O.Kolomin.

📝 During the detailed and constructive dialogue, the parties discussed the development of bilateral ties between Elista and Atyrau in the areas of trade, economics, logistics, culture, humanitarian aid and education.

🇷🇺🇮🇳On May 20, the Governor of the Astrakhan Region, I.Babushkin, held online talks with the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Gujarat, B.Patel.

The meeting was attended by the Consul General of India in Kazan, D. Jeysundhar, the Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Representative Office in Astrakhan, O.Kolomin, the Deputy Chairman of the Astrakhan Region's Government, I.Volynsky, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Astrakhan Region, V.Golovkov.

The parties discussed transportation and logistics issues, the development of the North-South International Transport Corridor, and the use of resources in the Astrakhan Region's port special economic zone.

In addition to logistics, the dialogue focused on the prospects for industrial cooperation in shipbuilding, the opening of enterprises in the region for the packaging of Indian tea, rice, and peanuts, as well as for the production of medicines.

The parties also discussed educational contacts. Astrakhan universities are actively working with universities in Gujarat, and the issue of opening a Russian language and culture center at one of the Gujarat universities is being considered.

The Russian Cup in remote-controlled underwater vehicles and unmanned boats started today in Astrakhan on the basis of the Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft Corporate Training Center.

The competition is being held in the region for the ninth time, and this year 15 teams from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sevastopol, Murmansk and Kaspiysk took part in it. The participants are mainly from schoolchildren and students of Russian universities.

As part of the competition, the teams demonstrated the skills of operating underwater vehicles in difficult conditions in the presence of obstacles, extracted the "flight recorder" from the model of the sunken MI-8 helicopter, measured the depth of the water area and created a 3D model of a given area.

The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by representatives of the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy, the Border Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Kalmykia and the Astrakhan Region, the Russian Maritime Rescue Service, the Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, DOSAAF of Russia, as well as leading manufacturers of autonomous and remote-controlled marine vehicles.

🇷🇺🇰🇿 Today, a meeting on preparations for the 22nd Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum was held in Omsk.

The working meeting, chaired by Omsk Region Governor V.Khotsenko, was attended by I.Kapyrin, Director of the Department for Relations with Federal Subjects, Parliament, and Public Associations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the Central Office and heads of several representative offices of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, and members of the Omsk Region Government. Russia's Consul General in Uralsk, A.Gruby, and Russia's Trade Representative in Kazakhstan, A.Loginov, also joined the meeting remotely.

🎙 In his speech, the Omsk Region Governor emphasized:
"Kazakhstan is the Omsk Region's main foreign economic partner. This republic annually accounts for approximately 30% of the total mutual trade volume of our region."

✍ O.Kolomin, Representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Astrakhan, also presented a report on economic cooperation between the Astrakhan Region and regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting focused on the organizational aspects and agenda of the upcoming forum, as well as the development of mutually beneficial cross-border cooperation between Russian and Kazakh regions.

🤝 The meeting also discussed transport and logistics development in the Irtysh River basin, measures to remove barriers to trade and economic cooperation, and strengthening bilateral humanitarian, youth, and cultural ties.
