THE RECENT DECADE HAS SEEN the rise and fall of a cultural phenomenon known, especially by its opponents, as “Woke.” It has been largely a media construct, characterized by the appearance of a radical assertion of all things socially-inclusive, among which racial equality, same s*x marriage, trans rights, feminism, environmentalism, anticapitalism, etc. In most aspects, it might be considered a new phase of the “culture wars”—which occur when attempts to create an open society within a pre-existing closed one meet their opponent’s countermoves. To us, Woke is relevant for two aspects: the first, that it was in appearance revolutionary, the second that it was harmless, ineffective and, at times, self-sabotaging.

Dear Friends,

I have recently published my book, Q***r Harbor. Written in English, it addresses the backlash against LGBT politics— not just a hallmark of world politics today, but a significant conflict within our own local community here in Oradea.

Unlike other literature on this subject, it is not a blind endorsement of LGBT ideology and activism, nor is it an opportunistic, self-promoting criticism. Instead, it is a political proposition meant to reconcile q***r interests and mainstream society beyond the disruptions caused by performative activism.
