A week on from the Deloitte VAT & E-Invoicing Breakfast Forum, we’re pleased to look back on a valuable morning of focused industry discussion with our members and business community.

On 9 September, members of the business community in Qatar came together for a breakfast forum focused on VAT and e-invoicing, held by Deloitte in collaboration with British Chamber of Commerce Qatar, German Industry and Commerce Office Qatar, and the German Business Council Qatar at JW Marriott Marquis City Center Doha.

The session focused on the latest developments, lessons from implementation across the region, and the practical considerations for preparing systems, processes and operations for potential changes ahead.

A sincere thank you to Deloitte for sponsoring the breakfast forum and making this specialist session available to BCCQ members. We greatly value the opportunity to bring relevant expertise and practical business insight directly to our membership.

Our thanks also to the German Industry and Commerce Office Qatar and German Business Council Qatar for their support in bringing this forum together, and to JW Marriott Marquis City Center Doha for their superb hospitality and for hosting us so well.

We are looking forward to welcoming our members, sponsor partners and guests to the BCCQ Celebration Evening tomorrow, Thursday 17 September, at Park Hyatt Doha from 7:00pm.

This event is now SOLD OUT.

A few important reminders for everyone attending:

Your QR code will not be scanned on arrival.
Entry will be managed using the final registration list held by the hotel, so there is no need to present your registration QR code.

What the evening represents

Just Two Days to Go | BCCQ Celebration Evening

On Thursday, we will bring together our members, sponsor partners and guests at Park Hyatt Doha to mark an important milestone for the British Chamber of Commerce Qatar.

Since becoming BCCQ earlier this year, our focus has been clear: to build a Chamber that delivers genuine value to the businesses we represent.

That means creating a programme that goes beyond networking, bringing members closer to the conversations, organisations and opportunities that matter to business in Qatar.

From our engagement with the British Embassy and the Department for Business and Trade, to our growing relationship with Invest Qatar, alongside a programme of industry-focused events addressing practical business issues, we are continuing to strengthen the role of BCCQ within the wider Qatar–UK business relationship.

Thursday's evening is an opportunity to recognise the support of our members and sponsor partners who have been part of that journey so far, and to look ahead to what comes next.

Two perspectives. One strong UK–Qatar business relationship.

At the BCCQ Celebration Evening this Thursday, September 17 we are delighted to be welcoming two distinguished speakers whose roles reflect two important sides of the relationship we are building as a Chamber.

Duncan Hill OBE
Deputy Ambassador, British Embassy Doha
Duncan brings the perspective of the UK’s diplomatic mission in Qatar, supporting the Ambassador in strengthening the UK–Qatar relationship and advancing UK interests across political, economic, trade and wider areas of cooperation.

Aalia Al-Khater
Investment Development Officer, Invest Qatar
Aalia represents Qatar’s investment ecosystem and will share perspectives from Invest Qatar, where she supports initiatives that strengthen engagement with investors and partners and promote Qatar as a leading investment destination.

Bringing these perspectives together is particularly meaningful for BCCQ.

As a Chamber, our role sits at the intersection of British business, the UK diplomatic network and Qatar’s wider business and investment ecosystem. Our programme is designed to create opportunities for our members to understand the market, engage with the institutions shaping it and identify opportunities to grow.

Our relationship with Invest Qatar is an important part of that work, building on the research and dialogue undertaken earlier this year and looking ahead to how we can continue that conversation as the Qatar and wider GCC business environment evolves.

We are therefore especially pleased to have both Duncan and Aalia joining us for this evening, representing two perspectives that are highly relevant to the businesses we serve.
