100% D.I.Y., independent and non-hierarchical solidarity movement based on volunteer work which collects non-commercial value food products and use them to prepare vegan full meals to distribute for free to the destitute people in the streets of Porto. We strongly believe food should be a right, not a privilege, so this project is not about charity, but direct-action social-activism and a form of
protest against the unbalanced way food is distributed in our capitalistic societies nowadays. That's why as much as possible, we try to use only the exceed of some to share it with the ones currently in need, avoiding to ask for any money. In other hand food donations are always welcome and would be much appreciated. Some things are always needed, and not always possible to get free of charge, such as: boxes of take-away food, jars, disposable cutlery, or basic food items such as rice, pasta, salt, olive oil frying oil, bread and of course, fruits and veggies. Donations can be dropped at Flying Fox Vegan Restaurant in Porto from Monday to Saturday between 16h00 and 00h00.
