This beach is good in the summer when the sea is small. When all beachs are flat check this beach and and you might be lucky. I advise to go with friends because the beach is in the middle of nowhere.
You have to pass Espinho and go to Cortegaça, that is a small village, then ask how to go to praia da maceda.

Praia do Aterro is a beachbreak located 2 kms north of Leça da Palmeira, heading north along the side walk. Aterro is a good summer option, good walls, although it is quite exposed to the north wind.There is also a cool bar on top of the dunes, thos beach provides excellent atmosphere. Good riding walls specially at mid high tide. Good surfing consistency on W, NW and SW swells. The Aterro Beach presents a lovely surrounding vegetation that goes around the sandy area that provides a great natural beauty to the beach. This Beach is usually frequented by surfers and body boarders that find here great ocean conditions for these kinds of sport. The beauty of the rocky area that is shown in between tides, also provides a lovely landscape to the beach. The Aterro Beach provides the necessary conditions for the most demanding users.
