Pilot Implementation of IO2: Eco-Tech Learning Modules
Project No.: 2024-1-RO01-KA220-SCH-000246390
Our LTT with students and teachers, aimed at piloting IO2, took place in Lisbon — the three-day event proved to be highly successful.
Participants engaged with foundational concepts of Eco-Technology and Digital Tools for environmental monitoring while collaborating closely with international partners.
The event was distinguished by strong cooperation and constructive teamwork among all partners. Throughout the sessions, we were able to acknowledge learning achievements, exchange knowledge, and both inspire and be inspired in the field of eco-technology.
Prior to the WP2 sessions — Eco-Learning Modules — we arranged an official reception and a guided tour of Eça de Queirós. Afterwards, we commenced the pilot implementation of IO2 within the LTT framework involving students and teachers.
On the 1st Day,
Module 1 — Introduction to Eco-Technology was delivered by AraxaEdu, followed by Module 2 — Digital Tools for Environmental Monitoring.
Students understood the principles of environmentally sustainable technologies and their applications. They explored renewable energy systems, resource-efficient solutions, and eco-innovative practices. Additionally, they gained knowledge of digital instruments used to measure, analyse, and track environmental data.
On the 2nd Day,
The pilot activities continued with Module 3 — Sustainable Energy Technologies and Module 4 — Smart Waste Management Solutions.
During these sessions, students explored clean energy systems and examined how innovative technological approaches can mitigate environmental impact. The activities enabled them to better understand solar, wind, and other renewable energy solutions. Teachers and students also had the opportunity to engage with digital tools and environmentally responsible methods aimed at reducing waste, promoting recycling, and managing resources more effectively.
The sessions contributed significantly to our objective of strengthening students’ understanding of eco-technology and encouraging them to play an active part in safeguarding our planet.
On the final day,
the focus was placed on modules from the Eco-Tech Learning Programme, such as Green Transportation Innovations and Eco-Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Students analysed contemporary solutions for sustainable mobility, including electric vehicles, intelligent public transport systems, and low-carbon travel options.
These sessions were essential in demonstrating how mobility choices can support a healthier environment. They also motivated students to adopt the mindset of emerging eco-innovators. Discussions included simple environmentally-driven business concepts, key sustainability challenges, and the role of technology in enabling practical eco-friendly solutions.
Piloting IO2 was, for all partners, a remarkable experience marked by strong motivation and meaningful engagement from both teachers and students.
The Portuguese Team expresses its sincere appreciation for the contribution and participation of all partners in the event, wishing for the continued success of the partnership and the achievements reached so far.
