Representative of India met H.E. Mr. Mohammad Abu Alia, Governor of Bethlehem, during an official visit to Bethlehem Governorate. During their discussions, the Representative reaffirmed India’s continued support and solidarity with Palestine, reflected through its longstanding development partnership and projects focused on capacity-building, institution-building, education, healthcare and community development. She appreciated the detailed briefing provided by the Governor on the current economic and humanitarian situation in the Governorate. The Representative thanked the Governor for his warm hospitality, and for his support in preparations for the upcoming 11th International Day of Yoga in Bethlehem.
The Representative also met Mr. Hanna Hananiya, Mayor of Bethlehem, congratulating him on his recent appointment following the local elections. Discussions highlighted Bethlehem’s deep spiritual and cultural significance for India, with thousands of Indian pilgrims and tourists visiting annually, and explored avenues for strengthening municipal and cultural cooperation between Bethlehem and Indian cities.
The visit also included a tour of Battir, the UNESCO-recognized heritage village, where the Representative met Eng. Akram Bader, Mayor of Battir, and appreciated his longstanding business ties with India, reflecting the strength of India-Palestine relations across sectors and people-to-people connections.
The Representative valued the opportunity to visit important spiritual and cultural landmarks across Bethlehem Governorate, including the Church of the Nativity, the Wall Museum and Cremisan Valley and Monastery.
The visit reaffirmed the enduring friendship between India and Palestine and the shared commitment to dialogue, cultural exchange, and sustainable development cooperation 🇮🇳🤝🇵🇸
التقت ممثلة الهند لدى دولة فلسطين بعطوفة السيد محمد أبو عليا، محافظ بيت لحم، خلال زيارة رسمية إلى محافظة بيت لحم. وخلال النقاشات، أكدت ممثلة الهند استمرار دعم الهند وتضامنها مع فلسطين، والذي ينعكس من خلال شراكتها التنموية الممتدة ومشاريعها التي تركز على بناء القدرات، وبناء المؤسسات، والتعليم، والرعاية الصحية، والتنمية المجتمعية. كما أعربت عن تقديرها للإحاطة التفصيلية التي قدمها المحافظ حول الوضعين الاقتصادي والإنساني الراهنين في المحافظة. وشكرت ممثلة الهند المحافظ على حفاوة الاستقبال، وعلى دعمه للاستعدادات الخاصة بتنظيم النسخة الحادية عشرة من اليوم العالمي لليوغا في بيت لحم.
كما التقت ممثلة الهند السيد حنا حنانيا، رئيس بلدية بيت لحم، مقدمةً له التهنئة بمناسبة تعيينه مؤخراً عقب الانتخابات المحلية. وسلطت المناقشات الضوء على الأهمية الروحية والثقافية العميقة لبيت لحم بالنسبة للهند، حيث يزور المدينة سنوياً آلاف الحجاج والسياح الهنود، كما تناولت سبل تعزيز التعاون البلدي والثقافي بين بيت لحم والمدن الهندية.
وشملت الزيارة أيضاً جولة في بلدة بتير المدرجة على قائمة التراث العالمي لليونسكو، حيث التقت ممثلة الهند بالمهندس أكرم بدر، رئيس بلدية بتير، وأعربت عن تقديرها لعلاقاته التجارية الممتدة مع الهند، بما يعكس متانة العلاقات الهندية الفلسطينية على مختلف المستويات، ويعزز التواصل بين الشعبين.
كما أتاحت الزيارة الفرصة لممثلة الهند لزيارة عدد من المعالم الروحية والثقافية المهمة في محافظة بيت لحم، بما في ذلك كنيسة المهد، ومتحف الجدار، ووادي ودير كريمزان.
وأكدت الزيارة عمق علاقات الصداقة بين الهند وفلسطين، والالتزام المشترك بالحوار، والتبادل الثقافي، والتعاون التنموي المستدام 🇮🇳🤝🇵🇸
