The Palestinian Youth Movement (“PYM”) is a transnational, independent, grassroots movement of young Palestinians in Palestine and exiled worldwide as a result of the on-going Zionist colonization and occupation of our homeland. Our belonging to Palestine and our aspirations for justice and liberation motivates us to assume an active role as a young generation in our national struggle for the liberation of our homeland and people.

MACKLEMORE’S PRINCIPLED STANCE: Turning the conversation back to Palestine

After calling for a free Palestine, Macklemore was dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour because of Zionist threats to cancel shows.

During his opening act, Macklemore displayed images of Israel’s destruction and genocide in Gaza and said that Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank should know they have not been forgotten. He performed “Hind’s Hall,” and said to tens of thousands of people “Free Palestine” — this triggered Zionists into a frenzy, igniting a campaign to get Macklemore pulled from the rest of the tour and silence any anti-zionist narrative.

Robert Kraft—prominent AIPAC donor and owner of the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium, who is also connected to notorious s*x trafficker and alleged Mossad agent Jeffrey Epstein—rallied stadium owners across the country to cancel upcoming tour stops if Macklemore remained in the shows. Ed Sheeran and his team gave in to the Zionist pressure and kicked Macklemore off the tour in the name of “neutrality” and keeping things “apolitical.” In his statement online, Macklemore exposed Ed Sheeran’s “apolitical” stance for what it really is: complicity in normalization and genocide.

Zionists are attempting to re-gain ground after losing all legitimacy on the global stage. Attempts to silence Macklemore and other pro-Palestine voices will not erase the images that emerged from Gaza, nor change the fact that Israel is committing a genocide against the Palestinian people.

Under oppression, there is no neutrality. There is no side but the truth and Gaza is our compass on the path of total liberation. All people of conscience have a duty to speak out against the ongoing genocide—and against our government’s actions of providing money, weapons, and bombs for Israel while covering for them politically and diplomatically.

This week, the beloved southern Lebanese baker and local business owner Haitham Berro was killed in an Israeli strike targeting his motorcycle outside his bakery.

Haitham was known for his deep rootedness in the South, and for proudly making and sharing sourdough bread produced there through local methods and ingredients. His life’s passion for baking and breaking bread with his people was ultimately grounded in the land and community he loved.

Berro’s killing comes amid a continuation and escalation of Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon and the wider region. The Zionist occupation has ramped up its colonial offensive across the South in an attempt to capture more land and expand the boundaries of its settler project. The price paid for the South’s liberation is the blood of heroes like Haitham Berro, who gave their lives to remain on the land and continue to draw life and sustenance from it, even in the face of the great evils of Zionism and imperialism.

Glory to Haitham Berro and all our martyrs. From Beirut to Al Quds, we carry their names with us on the road to liberation and return.

Abdallah and Maryam Farhat were two Lebanese children murdered alongside members of their family in an Israeli strike on their residential building in Kfar Rouman, Lebanon.

Their martyrdom comes amid Israel’s continued aggression on Lebanon and its ongoing genocide against our people in Gaza. From Palestine to Lebanon, the Zionist project has always depended on the displacement, destruction, and killing of our people across the region.

Abdallah and Maryam were children. They had names, families, futures, and lives that should never have been stolen from them.

We honor Abdallah and Maryam and all the martyrs of Lebanon and Palestine. We carry their names with us in our struggle against Zionism and for the liberation of Palestine and our region.

ISRAEL BOMBS AL-SHATI REFUGEE CAMP

The genocide continues in Gaza. Israel launched violent airstrikes in Al Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza, targeting residential blocks, homes, and businesses.

The Israeli airstrike has caused widespread destruction west of Gaza City, leaving many people injured and martyred.

The ceasefire is a lie. Israel continues the genocide in Gaza and has devised plans to ethnically cleanse all of Gaza, with full support from the US.

In harrowing and horrific scenes, Israeli occupation forces continue to demolish homes in southern Lebanon. IOF detonated residential homes in the southern Lebanese village of Bani Hayyan after invading the village and planting explosives. The IOF continue to terrorize southern Lebanon, targeting and blowing up homes with explosives, and shelling areas with artillery.

Amid mass home demolitions, Israel is systematically destroying entire neighborhoods and villages despite the so-called ceasefire and ethnically cleansing southern Lebanon. By providing material support and diplomatic cover for Israel’s war crimes, the U.S., Canada, and European powers bear responsibility for the criminal genocides taking place in Lebanon and Palestine.

Over the weekend, Israeli occupation forces launched several airstrikes across Gaza, killing at least five Palestinians.

In one instance, an Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle traveling in Gaza City, killing Yousef Akila and his 8 year old daughter Wafaa. Wafaa and her father were on their way home from picking up school supplies after Wafaa’s first day of school, when the IOF attacked their car and killed them. At least 6 others were wounded in the vicinity of the Zionist strike. Wafaa and Yousef were 2 of the several other Palestinians killed by Israeli attacks targeting shelters of displaced families and schools across Gaza.

There is no ceasefire in Gaza. The Zionist genocide continues unabated, as Palestinians risk their lives to continue education.

We demand a two-way arms embargo, sanctions against Israel, and prosecution of Zionist occupation authorities for their war crimes. The struggle for justice and liberation continues.

Yesterday, Israeli airstrikes targeted a residential building in Kfar Ruman in southern Lebanon, killing at least 12 people. Members across three generations of the Farhat family were martyred, including a two-month old baby.

The Zionist occupation has intensified its bombardment and attacks on southern Lebanon, killing over 27 people in Lebanon since last Friday.

From Palestine to Lebanon, Israel continues to commit war crimes against our people with total backing and impunity furnished by imperialist powers like the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
