El 21 de marzo de 2026, en el Campamento Santiago, el Comando Estatal de la Guardia Nacional de Puerto Rico llevó a cabo una ceremonia de reconocimientos en honor a nuestros soldados y aviadores.

Durante la actividad, se destacó el desempeño, la disciplina y el compromiso con la misión en operaciones de alto impacto, incluyendo la respuesta a los Terremotos del sur de Puerto Rico durante la Operation Anniversary, así como su participación en las operaciones Strong Front y Warp Speed. Cada medalla simboliza servicio abnegado, liderazgo bajo presión y cumplimiento del deber más allá de lo esperado.

Se otorgaron veinticuatro (24) Achievement Medals, dieciocho (18) Commendation Medals y una (1) Meritorious Service Medal, de un total de 486 soldados movilizados. Además, se entregaron 192 Humanitarian Service Medals correspondientes a la Operation Anniversary.

Nuestros hombres y mujeres continúan demostrando que somos una fuerza lista, capaz y comprometida con Puerto Rico.

On March 21, 2026, at Camp Santiago, the Puerto Rico State Guard Command conducted an awards ceremony honoring our Soldiers and Airmen.

The event highlighted performance, discipline, and commitment to mission accomplishment in high-impact operations, including the response to the southern Puerto Rico earthquakes during Operation Anniversary, as well as participation in Operations Strong Front and Warp Speed. Each award represents selfless service, leadership under pressure, and duty beyond expectations.

A total of twenty-four (24) Achievement Medals, eighteen (18) Commendation Medals, and one (1) Meritorious Service Medal were presented out of 486 mobilized Soldiers. Additionally, 192 Humanitarian Service Medals were awarded in support of Operation Anniversary.

Our force remains ready, capable, and committed to serving Puerto Rico.

El Comando Estatal de la Guardia Nacional de Puerto Rico llevó a cabo con éxito, por cuarto año consecutivo, el PHA (Periodic Health Assessment), un ejercicio anual de preparación médica dirigido a nuestros Soldados y Aviadores, como parte de los esfuerzos continuos para garantizar la preparación y capacidad operacional de la fuerza militar.

El ejercicio se realizó los días 31 de enero y 1 de febrero de 2026, en cumplimiento con las políticas médicas establecidas, e impactó a más de 800 miembros, asegurando el cumplimiento de los requisitos de salud y fortaleciendo la postura de respuesta del Comando Estatal ante la próxima temporada de huracanes y futuras misiones de emergencia.

Esta actividad demuestra el compromiso institucional con la salud, resiliencia y disponibilidad inmediata de nuestro personal.

The Puerto Rico State Guard Command successfully conducted, for the fourth consecutive year, the PHA (Periodic Health Assessment), an annual medical readiness exercise focused on our Soldiers and Airmen, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the preparedness and operational capability of the military force.

The exercise was held on January 31 and February 1, 2026, in compliance with established medical policies, impacting more than 800 service members, ensuring the fulfillment of health requirements and strengthening the State Command’s response posture ahead of the upcoming hurricane season and future emergency missions.

This activity demonstrates the institutional commitment to the health, resilience, and immediate readiness of our personnel.

El 14 de enero de 2026, el Comando Estatal de la Guardia Nacional de Puerto Rico (GNPR) tuvo el honor de reconocer el trabajo incansable, el sacrificio personal y el compromiso ejemplar de los LTC (PR) Rubén Moyeno, LTC (PR) Vicente Morales y LTC (PR) Colemerido Cardona, quienes fueron promovidos al rango de Coronel (COL).

Este importante ascenso representó mucho más que un cambio de rango; fue el reflejo de años de servicio honorable, liderazgo firme y una vocación constante de servir a Puerto Rico y a nuestro Comando Estatal. A lo largo de sus carreras, cada uno ha demostrado profesionalismo, carácter y dedicación al desarrollo de sus soldados y al cumplimiento de la misión, aun en los momentos más retadores.

El Comando Estatal de la GNPR extiende su más sincero reconocimiento y felicitaciones a los nuevos Coroneles, así como a sus familias, cuyo apoyo y sacrificio han sido fundamentales en este camino de servicio.

On January 14, 2026, the Puerto Rico National Guard State Guard Command had the honor of recognizing the tireless work, personal sacrifice, and exemplary commitment of LTC (PR) Ruben Moyeno, LTC (PR) Vicente Morales, and LTC (PR) Colemerido Cardona, who were promoted to the rank of Colonel (COL).

This important promotion represented far more than a change in rank; it was a reflection of years of honorable service, steady leadership, and a constant vocation to serve Puerto Rico and our PRNG, State Command. Throughout their careers, each has demonstrated professionalism, character, and dedication to the development of their Soldiers and the successful accomplishment of the mission, even in the most challenging moments.

The PRNG, State Command extends its sincerest recognition and congratulations to the new Colonels, as well as to their families, whose support and sacrifice have been fundamental throughout this journey of service.

El pasado 16 de agosto de 2025, el Ayudante General de Puerto Rico, COL Carlos Rivera Román, recibió un briefing por parte del General de Brigada (PR) Edrick Ramírez, Comandante General del Comando Estatal de Puerto Rico, junto a su J-Staff. En la reunión se discutieron diversos temas relacionados con la preparación, las capacidades y el adiestramiento de la fuerza, así como el estado de situación actual de cara a la temporada de huracanes.

La reunión contó además con la participación del Sargento Mayor de Estado de la GNPR, CSM Juvencio Méndez, quien destacó la importancia del liderazgo y la disciplina para asegurar que el Comando Estatal se mantenga siempre listo y disponible al servicio de Puerto Rico y de la Nación.

On August 16, 2025, the Adjutant General of Puerto Rico, COL. Carlos Rivera Román, received a briefing from Brigadier General (PR) Edrick Ramírez, Commanding General of the Puerto Rico State Guard Command, together with his J-Staff. The meeting addressed various topics related to the preparation, capabilities, and training of the force, as well as the current status in view of the hurricane season.

The meeting also included the participation of the State Command Sergeant Major of the PRNG, CSM Juvencio Méndez, who emphasized the importance of leadership and discipline in ensuring that the State Command remains always ready and available in service to Puerto Rico and the Nation.

Entre el 31 de julio y el 7 de agosto de 2025, soldados del Comando Médico 900 del Comando Estatal de la Guardia Nacional de Puerto Rico fueron movilizados para brindar apoyo médico a la Unidad 348 del US Army Reserve durante el ejercicio militar “Caribbean Thunder” en Camp Santiago, Salinas, Puerto Rico.

Como parte de sus responsabilidades, el personal médico asignado estuvo a cargo de supervisar el bienestar de los soldados y prevenir golpes de calor, deshidratación, esguinces y otras condiciones médicas derivadas de las altas temperaturas.

El Sargento Mayor de Comando (CSM) de la Unidad 348 entregó una Challenge Coin como muestra de agradecimiento por el compromiso, la dedicación y el profesionalismo demostrados. Reconocemos y agradecemos a nuestros soldados por su valiosa contribución y firme compromiso durante esta misión de apoyo.

From July 31 to August 7, 2025, soldiers from the 900th Medical Command of the Puerto Rico State Guard Command were mobilized to provide medical support to the 348th Unit of the U.S. Army Reserve during the “Caribbean Thunder” military exercise at Camp Santiago, Salinas, Puerto Rico.

As part of their responsibilities, the assigned medical personnel were in charge of monitoring the soldiers’ well-being and preventing heat strokes, dehydration, sprains, and other medical conditions resulting from high temperatures.

The Command Sergeant Major (CSM) of the 348th Unit presented a Challenge Coin as a token of appreciation for the commitment, dedication, and professionalism demonstrated. We recognize and thank our soldiers for their valuable contribution and steadfast commitment during this support mission.

Durante el día de hoy, soldados del Comando Médico 900 del Comando Estatal de la GNPR participaron en una mision junto al Departamento de Salud de Puerto Rico, “Salud Eres Tú”, donde se ofrecieron servicios y evaluaciones médicas en el municipio de Manatí. El Comando Médico proveyó servicios especializados en Neumología, Ginecología, Medicina de Familia, Asistencia Médica (PA) y Enfermería Especializada.

¡Ustedes son una fuerza militar resiliente! Con su entrega, profesionalismo y compromiso inquebrantable, llevan salud y esperanza a nuestra gente. Gracias por sus servicios, hoy Puerto Rico es más fuerte y más saludable.

Today, soldiers from the 900th Medical Command participated in a mission with the Puerto Rico Department of Health, “Salud Eres Tú”, providing medical services and evaluations in the municipality of Manatí.
The Medical Command offered specialized services in Pulmonology, Gynecology, Family Medicine, Physician Assistants (PA), and Specialized Nursing.

Del 21 de julio al 4 de agosto de 2025, soldados del Comando Estatal de la Guardia Nacional de Puerto Rico, el CPT Iro García y el MSG Carlos Acevedo, del Equipo de Tiro, representaron a las Fuerzas Militares de Puerto Rico en las prestigiosas Competencias Nacionales, celebradas en Centro de Entrenamiento Conjunto Camp Perry, de la Guardia Nacional de Ohio.

En dichas competencias, obtuvieron el Primer Lugar y la Medalla de Oro en la categoría de Rifle Militar Moderno. Asimismo, alcanzaron la Medalla de Plata en el evento de Francotirador y el Primer Lugar en la categoría Sharpshooter de los agregados de la Copa CMP Nacional.

From July 21 to August 4, 2025, soldiers of the Puerto Rico State Guard Command, CPT Iro García and MSG Carlos Acevedo, from the PRNG Marksmanship Team, represented the Military Forces of Puerto Rico in the prestigious National Matches, held at the Joint Training Center Camp Perry of the Ohio National Guard.

In these competitions, they achieved First Place and the Gold Medal in the Modern Military Rifle category. They also earned the Silver Medal in the Sniper event and First Place in the Sharpshooter category of the CMP National Trophy Aggregate.

El pasado sábado, 19 de julio de 2025, soldados y oficiales del Comando Médico 900th del Comando Estatal de la GNPR brindaron un apoyo médico durante el ejercicio Bosslift 2025, demostrando una vez más su compromiso inquebrantable con Puerto Rico y nuestra Nación.

Durante la actividad, recibieron la visita del Ayudante General de Puerto Rico, COL (Ret) Carlos Rivera Román, quien personalmente reconoció su labor y dedicación en esta importante misión. Su presencia reafirmó el respaldo y la confianza en nuestros soldados, quienes día a día se entregan con excelencia al servicio de nuestra gente.

Agradecemos profundamente su entrega, profesionalismo y espíritu de servicio. Su participación fue clave para el éxito del ejercicio, fortaleciendo la integración entre nuestras fuerzas militares y la comunidad civil.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, soldier and officers from the 900th Medical Command of the Puerto Rico State Guard Command provided outstanding medical support during the Bosslift 2025 exercise, once again demonstrating their unwavering commitment to Puerto Rico and our Nation.

During the event, they were honored by a visit from the Adjutant General of Puerto Rico, COL (Ret) Carlos Rivera Román, who personally recognized their dedication and efforts in this important mission. His presence reaffirmed the trust and support placed in our soldiers, who serve our people each day with excellence.

We deeply appreciate their dedication, professionalism, and spirit of service. Their participation was key to the success of the exercise, strengthening the bond between our military forces and the civilian community.

Reafirmando nuestro compromiso con los Veteranos

El Comandante del Componente Terrestre, General de Brigada Carlos Torres, y el Comandante del Comando Estatal, General de Brigada Edrick Ramírez, visitaron la “Casa del Veterano” en Juana Díaz el 24 de julio de 2025, en representación del Ayudante General de Puerto Rico, Coronel (Ret.) Carlos J. Rivera Román.

Durante la visita, nuestra delegación se reunió con el Lcdo. Agustín Montañez, Procurador del Veterano, y el Sr. Dennis Vélez, monitor de la Casa del Veterano, reafirmando nuestro compromiso con quienes lo dieron todo por nuestra isla y nuestra nación.

Fortalecer alianzas como esta garantiza mayores beneficios y apoyo para nuestros Veteranos y sus familias. Reiteramos nuestro compromiso de trabajar mano a mano con nuestras comunidades para asegurar que cada soldado y veterano reciba el respeto y el cuidado que se merece.

Hoy 18 de julio de 2025, soldados del Comando Médico 900 y del Batallón 500 de Ingeniería del Comando Estatal de la Guardia Nacional de Puerto Rico llevaron a cabo preparativos en apoyo a la misión “Boss Lift” en el Campamento Santiago. Como parte de la operación, los soldados transportaron e instalaron una unidad de hospital móvil para apoyar las operaciones médicas durante el evento.

Este tipo de misión demuestra la capacidad operativa y el nivel de preparación de nuestras unidades para responder ante cualquier necesidad. La participación activa de nuestros soldados refleja el compromiso del Comando Estatal con el servicio y el apoyo a nuestra comunidad en todo momento.

On July 18, 2025, soldiers from the 900th Medical Command and the 500th Engineering Battalion of the Puerto Rico State Guard Command carried out preparations in support of a “Boss Lift” mission at Camp Santiago. As part of the operation, the soldiers transported and deployed a mobile hospital unit to support medical operations during the event.

This type of mission demonstrates the operational capability and level of readiness of our units to respond to any need. The active participation of our soldiers reflects the State Command’s commitment to service and to supporting our community at all times.

El pasado 12 de julio de 2025, fuimos testigos de un momento histórico para el Comando Estatal de la Guardia Nacional de Puerto Rico con la graduación y ceremonia de ascenso de la Clase OCS 25-1. Esta clase se convierte en la primera promoción del Officer Candidate School (OCS) del Comando Estatal, oficialmente formada conforme a los requisitos y regulaciones establecidos por el Ayudante General de Puerto Rico y el Comandante General del Comando Estatal.

Luego de seis meses de arduo trabajo, entrenamiento riguroso, estudios intensivos y formación en liderazgo, los candidatos han demostrado su compromiso con la excelencia y el servicio. Este logro no solo valida su esfuerzo individual, sino que también eleva el nivel profesional de nuestra fuerza militar estatal.

Felicitamos a los nuevos segundos tenientes por alcanzar esta meta. A partir de hoy, llevan sobre sus hombros la responsabilidad de liderar con integridad, guiar con firmeza y representar dignamente al Comando Estatal en cada misión.

On July 12, 2025, we witnessed a historic milestone for the Puerto Rico State Guard Command with the graduation and commissioning ceremony of OCS Class 25-1. This class marks the first official cohort of the Officer Candidate School (OCS) within the State Command, fully formed in accordance with the requirements and regulations established by the Adjutant General of Puerto Rico and the Commanding General of State Command.

After six months of intense work, rigorous training, academic study, and leadership development, these candidates have demonstrated unwavering commitment to excellence and service. Their achievement reflects not only personal dedication but also a significant step forward in the professionalization of our State Guard force.

We congratulate our newly commissioned second lieutenants for reaching this important milestone. From this day forward, they carry the responsibility to lead with integrity, guide with purpose, and proudly represent the State Command in every mission they undertake.

Mensaje en conmemoración del Día de Recordación

Hoy, en el Día de Recordación, honramos con profundo respeto y gratitud a los valientes hombres y mujeres que dieron su vida en defensa de la libertad y los valores que nos definen como nación. Su sacrificio es un recordatorio eterno del deber, la entrega y el amor por la patria.

Invitamos a todos a detenerse un momento, reflexionar y rendir homenaje a estos héroes caídos. Que su memoria nos inspire a vivir con propósito, a servir con honor y a nunca olvidar que la libertad tiene un precio que otros pagaron con su vida.
