A 4-kg infant with left-sided congenital diaphragmatic eventration associated with herniation of gut loops into the chest cavity was successfully managed with VATS diaphragmatic plication.
Alhamdulillah, the surgery was completed successfully and the baby is doing well postoperatively.
This minimally invasive approach helped restore normal diaphragmatic position and improve lung expansion while avoiding a large thoracic incision.
The entire surgical team is happy and thankful for the successful outcome.
