Skardu, Manthal Buddha Rock, is a popular destination for adventure and nature enthusiasts. The region is renowned for its breathtaking mountain landscapes, including the famous Karakoram Range, which attracts mountaineers and trekkers from around the world. A study visit is arranged for the Students of Tourism in Midcity Educatorβs School and College Skardu to Manthal Buddha Rock Skardu, the main purpose of the visit is to highlight the importance of tourism and the potential of religious tourism in the region.
Manthal Buddha Rock, also known as Manthal Buddha Stupa, is an ancient Buddhist site located in Skardu in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The site is situated on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Indus River and holds significant historical and cultural importance.
The Buddha statue at Manthal is carved directly into the rock face and measures approximately 7 meters in height. It is considered one of the largest rock carvings of the Buddha in the region. The sculpture showcases intricate details, including the Buddha's serene expression, the folds of his robes, and symbolic motifs surrounding the figure.
