وائٹ کلوور (Trifolium repens) کو فروٹ آرچرڈ میں لگانے کے فائدے اور نقصانات
فائدے:
نائٹروجن کی فراہمی: وائٹ کلوور زمین میں نائٹروجن شامل کرتا ہے، جس سے مٹی زرخیز ہوتی ہے اور پھل دار درخت بہتر بڑھتے ہیں۔
جڑی بوٹیوں کا کنٹرول: یہ زمین کو ڈھانپ لیتا ہے، جس سے غیر ضروری گھاس کم اُگتی ہے۔
نمی برقرار رکھنا: زمین کو کور کرنے کی وجہ سے پانی جلدی خشک نہیں ہوتا۔
مٹی کی بہتری: اس کی جڑیں مٹی کو نرم اور بہتر بناتی ہیں۔
شہد کی مکھیوں کو متوجہ کرنا: اس کے پھول مکھیوں کو کھینچتے ہیں، جس سے پولینیشن اور پھل کی پیداوار بہتر ہو سکتی ہے۔
ممکنہ نقصانات:
مقابلہ (Competition): اگر پانی یا غذائیت کم ہو تو یہ درختوں کے ساتھ مقابلہ کر سکتا ہے، خاص طور پر نئے پودوں میں۔
کیڑوں کا ٹھکانہ: کچھ کیڑے اس میں رہ سکتے ہیں جو بعد میں درختوں کو متاثر کر سکتے ہیں۔
دیکھ بھال کی ضرورت: اسے قابو میں رکھنے کے لیے وقتاً فوقتاً کٹائی ضروری ہوتی ہے۔
بہترین استعمال کا طریقہ:
نئے باغ میں اسے ہلکی مقدار میں لگائیں
ڈرِپ اریگیشن ہو تو زیادہ بہتر ہے
باقاعدگی سے کٹائی کرتے رہیں
درخت کے تنے کے بالکل قریب زیادہ گھنا نہ ہونے دیں

Under the supervision of Dr. Riaz Alam, NTHRI scientists have initiated the sowing of coffee seeds on an experimental basis to evaluate its adaptability under local conditions.
This trial is designed to study growth patterns, yield potential, and the overall suitability of coffee cultivation in the region.
The initiative highlights NTHRI’s ongoing commitment to innovation and diversification in agricultural research.
If successful, the experiment may create new opportunities for farmers and support sustainable crop development in the area.
