During the session, students were introduced to the Certificate in Computer Applications (CCA) and Electrician courses. Government College of Technology, Sahiwal successfully organized the Orientation Day on 25 May 2026 for the commencement of training courses under the visionary initiative of the CM Maryam Nawaz Hunarmand Program.
The event marked an important milestone in promoting technical education and creating opportunities for youth through quality skill development. As part of this initiative, admissions were completed and regular classes officially commenced in 03 high-demand trades: Welding, Plumbing, and Domestic Electrician.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Kashif Riaz, President of the Sahiwal Industrial Estate Welfare Association, as Chief Guest. The event was also attended by the Principal, Vice Principal, Heads of Departments, faculty members, administrative staff, and a large number of newly enrolled students. Focal Person Engr. Muhammad Zubair welcomed the students and gave them a detailed briefing about the program.
Addressing the participants, Principal Dr. Muhammad Ajmal welcomed the students and encouraged them to make the best use of this valuable opportunity through dedication, discipline, and continuous learning.
The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the Government of Punjab, TEVTA, and Government College of Technology Sahiwal for launching initiatives that contribute towards youth empowerment, employment generation, and economic growth.
At the conclusion of the event, the administration and guests visited the training labs and officially launched the first batch at GCT Sahiwal.

On 22 May 2026, the District Placement Officer Sahiwal/Pakpattan and the Institute Placement Officer of Government College of Technology Sahiwal signed an MOU with Ibrahim Poultry Traders, Sahiwal.

On behalf of Ibrahim Poultry Traders, Mr. Adnan Sabir, Manager HR/Admin, signed the agreement.

Under this MOU, Ibrahim Poultry Traders will provide 4-week paid internships during the summer vacations for 20 students of DAE CIT, DAE Mechanical, DAE Electrical, and Electrician G-II Level programs. These internships may lead to job opportunities for students who successfully meet the company’s performance and evaluation criteria.
