یوم آزادی پر واپڈا ہاؤس میں تقریب
چیئرمین واپڈا لیفٹیننٹ جنرل محمد سعید(ریٹائرڈ) نے پرچم کشائی کی
واپڈا میں پاکستان کا 79 واں یوم آزادی قومی جوش و جذبہ کے ساتھ منایا گیا۔ مرکزی تقریب واپڈا ہاؤس لاہور میں منعقد ہوئی۔ چیئرمین واپڈا لیفٹیننٹ جنرل محمد سعید (ریٹائرڈ) تقریب کے مہمان خصوصی تھے، جنہوں نے واپڈا آڈیٹوریم میں پرچم کشائی کی۔
ممبر فنانس نوید اصغر چوہدری، ممبر پاور محمد عرفان میانہ، واپڈا کے سینئر آفیسرز، ملازمین اور ان کے اہل خانہ بھی تقریب میں شریک تھے۔ تقریب وطن سے محبت اور یکجہتی کا مظہر تھی۔
پرچم کشائی کے بعد واپڈا گرلز ہائی سکول بروتھہ کی طالبات نے ملی نغمے پیش کئے۔ ان طالبات اور اساتذہ کو واپڈا ہاؤس لاہور میں منعقد ہونے والی جشن آزادی کی تقریب میں خصوصی طور پر مدعو کیا گیا تھا۔
تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے چیئرمین واپڈا نے شرکاء کو یوم آزادی کی مبارکباد پیش کی ۔ انہوں نے واپڈا گرلز ہائی سکول بروتھہ کی طالبات اور اساتذہ کی تعریف کی اور کہا کہ ملی نغموں کی بدولت شرکاء میں وطن سے محبت کا جذبہ ایک بار بھر ابھارنے پر طالبات لائق تحسین ہیں۔ چیئرمین نے نوجوانوں کو نصیحت کی کہ وہ آگے بڑھنے کیلئے مثبت رویہ کو پروان چڑھائیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ آزادی کے 79 برس میں پاکستان نے جو کامیابیاں حاصل کی ہیں، ان پر ہمیں فخر کرنا چاہیئے، ہمیں ملک کی ترقی اور خوشحالی کیلئے مثبت سوچ کے ساتھ بھرپور کوشش کرنا ہوگی۔
تقریب کے اختتام پر چیئرمین واپڈا نے طالبات میں سرٹیفکیٹ بھی تقسیم کئے۔
پرچم کشائی کی تقریب کے ساتھ ساتھ جشن آزادی کی مناسبت سے واپڈا ہاؤس کو سبز روشنی اور قومی پرچموں سے بھی آراستہ کیا گیا ہے۔

Independence Day Celebrations:
Chairman Hoists National Flag at WAPDA House
August 14, 2026: WAPDA celebrated the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan with national fervor. The main ceremony for hoisting the National Flag was held at WAPDA House, Lahore. Chairman WAPDA and Chief Guest of the ceremony Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed (Retd) hoisted the National Flag at the WAPDA Auditorium.
Member (Finance) Naveed Asghar Chaudhry and Member (Power) Muhammad Arfan Miana also attended the ceremony. A large number of WAPDA officers, employees, and their family members participated in the event, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism that defines the organization.
Hoisting of the National Flag was followed by the Milli Naghmas performed by the students of WAPDA Girls High School, Barotha. The students were especially invited to Lahore to be part of the celebrations.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chairman congratulated the audience on Independence Day. He appreciated the students and their teachers for the soulful performance of Milli Naghmas, by infusing the audience with patriotism. He advised the youngsters to adopt a positive attitude to move forward. We should take pride in what we have achieved during the last 79 years of Independence and make earnest efforts for the development and prosperity of the country, he further said.
Earlier, the Chairman also presented certificates among the students of WAPDA Girls High School Barotha.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the iconic WAPDA House has also been magnificently illuminated in green, with a large illuminated National Flag displayed at its center, serving as a beacon of national pride.
