An inspection of food establishments at Garrison Park, Main Shami Road, Peshawar Cantonment was conducted under the supervision of the Cantonment Magistrate, Peshawar Cantonment, along with the Food Inspector, PHO and AHO of Cantonment Board Peshawar.
During the inspection, food outlets were checked for kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, food handling and medical fitness certificates of food handlers. Two restaurants were sealed due to unhygienic kitchen conditions and non-availability of valid medical fitness certificates.
Other violators were booked under the relevant provisions of the Pure Food Act, 1966, and directed to rectify the deficiencies immediately. The Cantonment Magistrate further directed strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, failing which further legal action shall follow.
