The Revolutionary Communist Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa strongly condemns the police violence and tear gas shelling against the peace march from Bara, Khyber District to Peshawar. The right to peaceful protest is a fundamental democratic right, yet the provincial authorities are attempting to suppress legitimate demands for peace through force and repression.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continues to suffer from terrorism, bomb blasts, and worsening insecurity, with civilian lives being lost in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Khyber, and Tirah. Despite this, the state has failed to ensure basic protection for the population. In this context, the use of force against those demanding peace only exposes the failure of governance and accountability.
It is deeply concerning that the provincial leadership is engaged in political meetings elsewhere while the province remains engulfed in insecurity and instability. Instead of addressing the real crisis, repression is being used against those raising their voices for safety and peace.
The Revolutionary Communist Party expresses full solidarity with the participants of the Khyber peace movement and the people of Khyber, and condemns all forms of state violence and repression.
