The Director General, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Tariq Ali Khan (PMS BS-20) visited the Central Laboratory of EPA KP located at Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI), Peshawar.

During the visit, the DG EPA inspected various sections of the laboratory and reviewed the available analytical facilities, equipment, and ongoing laboratory activities. He was briefed that the Central Laboratory is equipped with modern and state-of-the-art instruments, which are fully functional and being effectively utilized for routine environmental monitoring and analysis.

The DG EPA appreciated the professional management of the laboratory, cleanliness standards, proper maintenance of equipment, and the dedication of laboratory staff in performing their assigned responsibilities. He commended the efforts of the team in ensuring reliable environmental analysis and supporting EPA KP’s regulatory and monitoring functions.

The Central Laboratory continues to play a vital role in strengthening environmental governance through scientific analysis, data generation, and evidence-based decision-making for protection of the environment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Director General, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Tariq Ali Khan (PMS BS-20) visited the Fixed Air Quality Monitoring Station installed at the rooftop of EPA Head Office, Peshawar.

During the visit, the DG was briefed about the functioning of the monitoring station, which provides real-time air quality data through continuous monitoring of key air pollutants, including Particulate Matter (PM₂.₅ & PM₁₀), Sulphur Oxides (SOx), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) and other relevant parameters.

The station plays a vital role in strengthening scientific monitoring of ambient air quality, generating reliable data for informed decision-making, and supporting effective measures for air pollution control in the province.

The DG EPA emphasized the importance of utilizing modern monitoring technologies, strengthening environmental data systems, and enhancing public awareness regarding air quality and its impacts on human health and the environment.

Meeting Held at EPA KP Headquarters with UNDP Representatives to Discuss Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and Action Plans

A meeting was held at the office of the Director General, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under the chairmanship of Director General EPA KP, Mr. Tariq Ali Khan (PMS BS-20), with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and a local representative.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the development of effective strategies and action plans for the conservation of biodiversity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The participants deliberated upon collaborative approaches, institutional coordination, and future initiatives aimed at strengthening biodiversity conservation efforts and ensuring sustainable management of natural ecosystems.

The DG EPA emphasized the importance of collaborative partnerships with development organizations and relevant stakeholders to enhance environmental governance, protect the province’s rich biodiversity, and promote evidence-based conservation measures.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to further strengthen cooperation and explore innovative solutions for safeguarding the natural heritage of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A meeting was held at the office of the Director General, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under the chairmanship of Director General EPA KP, Mr. Tariq Ali Khan (PMS BS-20).
The meeting was attended by all Regional Directors of EPA KP, including Director Northern Directorate Abbottabad, Director Southern Directorate Dera Ismail Khan, Director Malakand Directorate Swat, and Director Central Directorate Peshawar, along with the Assistant Director (Planning), EPA Headquarters Peshawar.
During the meeting, various important matters related to the strengthening and improvement of institutional performance were discussed in detail. Key agenda items included progress on PC-I proposals, innovative interventions, establishment-related matters, capacity building of officers and staff, and future initiatives for enhancing the operational efficiency of the Agency.
The DG EPA emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts, strategic planning, and adoption of innovative approaches to further strengthen environmental governance and improve service delivery across the province.
The meeting concluded with directions to continue working towards effective implementation of planned initiatives and enhancing the capacity of EPA KP for better environmental protection and regulatory management.
