Government of Germany Provided Generous Support of 30 million Euro to AJK Government through KFW Health infrastructure program for reconstruction of three hospitals which were raised to ground in disastrous earthquake of 2005.in addition funds were earmarked for strengthening of professional human resource particularly Allied Health Professionals who are backbone of Health care delivery system. The task was started in collaboration with university of Azad Jammu Kashmir Muzaffarabad in 2009 & handed over completely to University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in June 2012. First ever Batch of 100 BS Medical Technology students graduated and received degrees on 30 December 2015. The education & training of these students was fully supported by KFW funds. Vice Chancellor AJK varsity Prof. Dr. Khawaja Farooq Ahmed is Putting his best efforts to further consolidate, strengthen and expand its faculty which now enrolls six hundred students of BS Medical Technologies and Masters in Public Health. Plans have been prepared for a new building including, labs which will be fully equipped. People of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in general & Earthquake affected districts in particular express heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the people and Govt of Germany for their generous and timely support in promoting health care in state. This human activity is deeply acknowledged appreciated and admired by people of AJK and Pakistan.
