Punjab Olympic Association

Punjab Olympic Association The Punjab Olympic Association (PbOA) got affiliated with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) in 1948.

Its main task is to promote and develop sports in the province. The Association undertakes its activities as per its Constitution. The Association is responsible to organize Inter Provincial Games / Championships and biennial National Games as and when allotted by the POA. Punjab Olympic Association has staged the National Games in 1950, 1952, 1954, 1956, 1962, 1966, 1972, 1978, 1984, 1992 and 200

0. Punjab Olympic Association holds the honour of being winner of the 1st Pakistan National Games that were held in Karachi in 1948.

32nd National Games have been allotted to the Punjab Olympic Association which will be held from 21st to 27th October 2012 in Lahore.

The President Punjab Olympic Association, Mr.Iftkhar Ali Malik, Secretary General Mr.Idris Haider Khawaja, and the whole sports fraternity feel deeply grieved on the Shahadat of innocent students, teachers and staff members of Army Public School in Peshawar. May Allah Almighty give their parents and dear ones strength to face this tragedy of immense proportions. This barbaric act of the terrorists has tarnished the image of Pakistan in particular and Islam in general around the globe. The young bright students were the future of this country.

We believe that such brutal and cowardly acts of terrorists will not be able to weaken the resolve of the nation to fight against anti-state elements. The deaths of our innocent children will further unite this nation’s fight against this menace of terrorism.

Indeed the pain inflicted by cowards cannot be expressed in words. The Olympic Family condemns this inhuman act and vows to promote “Peace through Sports”.

Tonight all Presidents,Secretaries of provincial Sports Association of Punjab Olympic Association and all Male and Female Players lighted the candles at Liberty round about Gulberg Lahore for the memory of innocent Martyrs Children.

May Allah bless our beloved land with peace, harmony and bless our children with a joyful life.
