اسپیکر پنجاب اسمبلی ملک محمد احمد خان نے کہا کہ میجر عزیز بھٹی شہید، ایم ایم عالم اور دیگر قومی ہیروز کی شجاعت ہماری تاریخ کا روشن باب ہے۔ دفاعِ وطن صرف سرحدوں کی حفاظت نہیں بلکہ قومی اتحاد، آئین کی بالادستی، قانون کی حکمرانی اور ذمہ دار سیاسی طرزِ عمل سے بھی وابستہ ہے۔

Speaker Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said that the courage of national heroes such as Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed and M.M. Alam remains a proud and inspiring chapter of our history.

He emphasised that the defence of Pakistan extends beyond protecting its borders—it also requires national unity, constitutional supremacy, rule of law, responsible political conduct and respect for state institutions.

The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab unanimously passed a resolution moved by Chairperson Child Protection & Welfare Bureau, MPA , Sarah Ahmad (T.I), calling for effective legal restrictions and limited access to social media accounts for children under 16, aimed at protecting them from online risks.

The resolution stated that protecting children’s physical, mental, psychological, and moral development is a fundamental responsibility of the State. The unsafe and irresponsible use of social media can expose children to cyberbullying, harassment, online sexual exploitation, and other serious risks.

The resolution also recommended that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) ensure the implementation of effective age-verification systems on social media platforms, while social media companies should be required to adopt robust child-safety measures and safety protocols.

On this *International Day of Charity*, let us remember that true progress of a society is measured by how it cares for its most vulnerable: the poor, the sick, the elderly, women, and children with different abilities.

As public representatives, it is our duty to promote a culture of compassion, volunteerism, and inclusive welfare. Governments must create systems, and citizens must create hearts that give.

پنجاب اسمبلی اور یو این ڈی پی پاکستان کے اشتراک سے اسمبلی کی خصوصی کمیٹی برائے مصنوعی ذہانت و ڈیجیٹل گورننس کے اراکین کے لیے منعقد کی جانے والی تین روزہ ورکشاپ ’’ڈیجیٹل ڈیموکریسی اِن ایکشن‘‘ آج اختتام پذیر ہو گئی۔
اختتامی اجلاس میں اراکین نے اپنے قانون سازی کے ایجنڈے کے لیے اہم ترجیحی شعبوں کی نشاندہی کی، جن میں عوامی شعبے میں مصنوعی ذہانت کی ٹیکنالوجیز کو شہریوں کی ضروریات کے مطابق بنانے، مختلف سرکاری محکموں کے درمیان ڈیٹا کے باہمی انضمام اور سائبر سیکیورٹی کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے مقامی و ملکی حل کی ضرورت شامل ہے۔ اراکین نے خصوصی کمیٹی کے طور پر آئندہ کے لائحۂ عمل پر بھی اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کیا، جس میں ورکشاپ اور فیلڈ وزٹس سے حاصل ہونے والی معلومات اور تجربات کی بنیاد پر ایک جامع ورک پلان کی تیاری شامل ہے۔
اپنے اختتامی کلمات میں اراکین نے پنجاب اسمبلی کے پارلیمانی ترقیاتی یونٹ، یو این ڈی پی پاکستان اور برطانیہ کے بین الاقوامی ترقیاتی ادارے کی جانب سے کمیٹی کے کام کے آغاز کے موقع پر اس اہم اقدام کو سراہا۔

The three day workshop, Digital Democracy in Action, organised by Punjab Assembly and UNDP Pakistan for the members of the special committee of the Assembly on AI & digital governance concluded today.

In its concluding session, members identified key priority areas for its legislative agenda including the need for citizen-centric focus in AI technologies for the public sector, integration of data between different government departments, and indigenous solutions to ensure cyber-security. They also expressed their views on the way forward as a special committee, including coming up with a work-plan based on insights gained from the workshop and the field visits.

In their closing remarks, members appreciated the work of the Parliamentary Development Unit of Punjab Assembly, the UNDP Pakistan and the United Kingdom International Development for taking this important initiative as they begin their work as a committee.

آج پنجاب اسمبلی کی قائمہ کمیٹی برائے قانونی اصلاحات و تفویض شدہ قانون سازی کا اجلاس اسپیکر پنجاب اسمبلی ملک محمد احمد خان کی زیرِ صدارت منعقد ہوا۔

اجلاس کے دوران کسی ادارے کو نفع بخش نہ ہونے والے ادارے (Not-for-Profit Organization) کے طور پر تسلیم کیے جانے سے متعلق قانون سازی کی تجویز پر تفصیلی غور کیا گیا۔ کمیٹی نے ایسے اداروں سے متعلق قانونی و ضابطہ جاتی امور کا جائزہ لیا، بالخصوص آئینِ پاکستان کی متعلقہ شقوں اور ٹیکس قوانین کی روشنی میں۔

کمیٹی نے صوبے کے حسابات سے متعلق آڈیٹر جنرل کی رپورٹس بروقت اسمبلی کے سامنے پیش کرنے سے متعلق امور پر بھی تفصیلی غور کیا، تاکہ آئینِ پاکستان کے آرٹیکل 171 کے تحت مقررہ آئینی طریقۂ کار کی مکمل پاسداری یقینی بنائی جا سکے۔ آڈیٹر جنرل کی رپورٹس کو صوبائی اسمبلی میں بروقت پیش کرنے کے حوالے سے ضروری ہدایات پر بھی تبادلۂ خیال کیا گیا، جس میں آئینی طریقۂ کار کی پابندی اور اس عمل میں غیر ضروری تاخیر سے گریز پر زور دیا گیا۔

Today, a meeting of the Committee on Law Reforms and Delegated Legislation of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab was held at the Punjab Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker, Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan.

The Committee held detailed discussions on a legislative proposal concerning the recognition of an institution as a not-for-profit organization, examining the legal and regulatory framework applicable to such institutions, particularly in light of the relevant constitutional provisions and tax laws. The Committee also deliberated upon matters relating to the timely presentation of the Auditor General’s reports on the Province’s accounts before the Assembly, with a view to ensuring due compliance with the constitutional procedure prescribed under Article 171 of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Directions regarding the timely laying of Auditor General’s Reports before the Provincial Assembly under Article 171 of the Constitution of Pakistan were discussed, with emphasis on ensuring compliance with the constitutional procedure and avoiding unnecessary delays in the process.
