𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 (𝐃𝐏𝐃), 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐀 𝐏𝐌𝐔, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐐𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐳𝐚, 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐮𝐣𝐫𝐚𝐭 along with 𝐌𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐀 𝐆𝐮𝐣𝐫𝐚𝐭, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐳 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭, to review storm water drainage arrangements, monsoon preparedness, disposal stations, and the performance of field teams. The delegation inspected Kalra and other disposal stations, including their pumping systems and available machinery.

The visit also included the under-construction 100-cusec Disposal Station at Zahoor Elahi Stadium, the Model Town Sewerage Project, and major drainage routes and low-lying areas. The visit emphasized improved storm water management, drain cleaning, desilting, monitoring, and sustainable planning to strengthen Gujrat's drainage infrastructure.

Under the leadership of 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐦 𝐍𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐳 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐟, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 has implemented a sustainable storm water management solution in Gujrat. Under the administrative guidance of 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐔𝐃&𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐍𝐨𝐨𝐫-𝐮𝐥-𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥, the initiative is being implemented by the 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 (𝐏𝐌𝐔), 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐀, In the 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 (𝐏𝐌𝐔) 𝐌𝐫. 𝐐𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐳𝐚. Three drainage interventions, including an approximately 5,600-ft RCC drain from Lorry Chowk to Halsi Nala, have been developed to divert upstream monsoon flows through natural gravity drainage and reduce the risk of urban flooding.

The initiative, carried out with the support of the I𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, has strengthened Gujrat’s flood resilience, while the city’s internal rainwater drainage has also been improved through efficient disposal operations. This reflects the 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛’𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 (𝐏𝐌𝐔), 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐀 remains committed to delivering sustainable solutions and ensuring better, safer and more resilient cities across Punjab.
