Khairpur Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) is being established in collaboration with District Administration Khairpur to facilitate agro-food, Non-agro & Light Engerning industrialization in Pakistan. The KSEZ is envisioned to provide best-in-class infrastructure and facilities & services to local & foreign entrepreneurs. The project is ideally located on the main National Highway (N-5) Khairpur Mirs, also set to emerge as a splendor of opportunity in the province of Sindh. The distinctive and unique characteristic of Khairpur is the farming and trade of high-quality dates. Pakistan has an I.0 percent share of the global date production and has an export market of more than USD 50 Million annually. Khairpur District is the key region where dates of global competitive quality are produced and marketed. There are a few date processing units in the area, but there is a vast potential for many more processing units, not only for dates but for the huge assortment of fruits and vegetables that are being cultivated in Northern Sindh. KSEZ targets small and medium-sized firms, while the investment zones target larger and more sophisticated projects. This investment zone target could slow recruitment and discourage sub-contracting to larger firms by SMEs. Unique and Progressive Identity:

- Cold Storage and warehousing facility will be established within the Zone on a rental basis
to facilitate the industries/ businesses
- A modern state-of-the-art Date Market has been proposed to be built adjacent to the Zone

Khairpur Special Economic Zone (KSEZ), under Sindh Economic Zones Management Company (SEZMC), has successfully concluded its Phase-II Paid Internship Program, marked by the distribution of completion certificates to participating interns.

Designed to strengthen Industryโ€“Academia Linkages, the initiative provided young talent with direct exposure to the industrial workplace, enabling them to gain professional insight, develop field-based understanding, and experience the practical dimensions of their respective disciplines.

Recognized by Financial Timesโ€™ fDi Intelligence as a Best Global Zone 2025, Khairpur Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) hosted students of Khairpur College of Agriculture & Management Sciences (KCAMS), Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, for an Industrial Exposure Visit under its Industryโ€“Academia Linkage Program.

Students of B.E. Agricultural Engineering, Food Sciences & Technology, and Biotechnology received a technical briefing from the KSEZ Team, followed by exposure visits to BioMasdar Pakistan and Al-Rahim Agro Processing.

Industry experts introduced students to discipline-relevant processes and real-world practices, while interactive discussions enabled students to explore their subject-related questions in an actual industrial environment.
