Department of Public Administration-Official Department of Public Administration was established in 1995 as a full-fledged department of University of Karachi.

Department of Public Administration always emphasized on maintaining the scholastic excellence and teaching standards in the field of higher education. Lately the department conducted an extensive academic exercise of updating the course outlines and reorganization of various courses. Its purpose is to meet the current market trends and fulfill the professional requirements of the young graduates. However, department also revised the previous methods of selecting the specialization courses and introduced new range of electives. The latest outline comprises of the subjects like Supply Chain Management, Mega-Cities Management and Public Policy. MPA's have double advantages over other graduates as they are not only aware of the administrative issues of public sector but they also know the ways and means to tackle the administrative dilemmas that confront the private sector.
