GHOTKI, Aug 26: Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) conducted the seventh day of water sampling activity in Ghotki to assess the quality of groundwater and canal water in the district.

SEPA Regional Incharge Sukkur Mir Mureed Talpur, District Ghotki Incharge Asadullah Tunio and the monitoring team, along with PCRWR Regional Director Dr Ghulam Murtaza and Sindh Bar Council Member Advocate Abdul Razaq Mahar, collected samples from Ghotki, Qadirpur and surrounding villages of the OGDC Qadirpur Gas Field.

The team also collected wastewater and canal water samples from Mahi Wah (Nara Canal).

حيدرآباد: سنڌ ماحولياتي تحفظ واري ايجنسي ( سیپا ) پاران ٽنڊو حيدر ۽ ڀرپاسي وارن علائقن ۾ غيرقانوني طور هلندڙ سرن جي بٺن خلاف ڪارروائي شروع ڪئي وئي آهي. ماحولياتي ضابطن جي ڀڃڪڙي ڪندڙ ڪيترن ئي بٺن کي سيل ڪيو ويو آهي، جڏهن ته ضابطن جي ابتڙ اڃا تائين هلندڙ بٺن خلاف پڻ ڪارروائي جاري آهي.

انسپيڪشن ۽ ڪارروائي واري مهم ڊپٽي ڊائريڪٽر (حيدرآباد ريجن) علي نواز ڀمڀرو جي نگراني ۾ سیپا جي ٽيم پاران ڪئي وئي. ڪارروائي دوران معلوم ٿيو ته ڪيترن ئي سرن جي بٺن ۾ فيڊ ريزڊيو (جانورن جي خوراڪ جي بچيل مواد) کي ٻارڻ طور استعمال ڪيو پيو وڃي، جيڪو ماحول ۽ انساني صحت لاءِ انتهائي نقصانڪار آهي ۽ ڀرپاسي رهندڙ ماڻهن ۾ ساهه ۽ ڦڦڙن جي بيمارين جو خطرو وڌائي سگهي ٿو.

هن ڪارروائي کي ٽائيمز ميڊيا نمايان ڪوريج ڏني وئي، جنهن ۾ هوا جي آلودگي کي روڪڻ ۽ علائقي جي رهواسين جي صحت جي تحفظ لاءِ سیپا جي جاري ڪوششن کي اجاگر ڪيو ويو آهي.

𝐇𝐘𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐃: Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA),Regional Office Hyderabad, reviewed the environmental compliance status of two major wind power projects, Lucky Energy and Yunus Energy Limited, located in Thatta district.

The review is conducted during a presentation session chaired by Regional Incharge, SEPA Hyderabad Ali Nawaz Bhambhro. Representatives of both projects briefed SEPA officials on their compliance with environmental regulations and outlined measures taken to minimise potential impacts on the local ecosystem and surrounding communities.

Moreover, the presentations also covered environmental safeguards, mitigation measures and steps being taken by the projects to ensure compliance with applicable environmental requirements.

The session is attended by Deputy Director Abdul Rauf Qureshi, Chemist Pirah Siyal and other SEPA officers.

𝐌𝐈𝐑𝐏𝐔𝐑 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐎: Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) Sukkur team, in collaboration with Dr Ghulam Murtaza Arain of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), conducted a water sampling activity at Masu Wah Fresh Water Canal in Mirpur Mathelo, District Ghotki.The activity is carried out to assess the quality of water in the canal and support environmental monitoring efforts in the region.

MIRPURKHAS(21 Aug 2026): World Environment Day is commemorated in Mirpurkhas with an awareness event organized by District Manager Civil Society Support Program (CSSP) Muhammad Bux Kapri in collaboration with the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), Regional Office Mirpurkhas.

The event brought together government officials, environmentalists, educationists, students and civil society representatives to discuss environmental challenges and climate change impacts in the region. An awareness tableau and panel discussion highlighted issues including extreme heat, water scarcity, changing weather patterns and their effects on agriculture and local communities.

The panel moderated by SEPA Chemist Shahid ur Rehman, included SEPA Regional Incharge Mirpurkhas Ali Muhammad Rind, Climate Smart Network Chairman Nawaz Kumbhar, soil scientist Bhawani Shankar and educationalist Razia. The speakers stressed climate adaptation, water conservation, sustainable agriculture and greater community participation.

SEPA Regional Office Mirpurkhas also distributed reusable cloth bags among participants to discourage plastic-bag use and promote environmentally friendly alternatives. Commissioner Mirpurkhas Division Shahmeer Bhutto and Mayor Abdul Rauf Ghori appreciated SEPA’s awareness efforts.

𝐒𝐄𝐏𝐀 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐲𝐨𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐝

HYDERABAD: Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) conducted a compliance inspection of Toyota Motors, located on Bypass Hyderabad, to assess the facility’s compliance with environmental regulations, particularly those concerning waste management.

During the visit, officials examined the facility’s arrangements for the storage, collection, transportation and disposal of solid and liquid waste generated by the automotive facility. Moreover ,they also reviewed the waste-management practices in light of the requirements of the Sindh Environmental Protection Act, 2014, assessing whether the existing systems were adequate and in compliance with environmental standards.

The inspection is carried out on the directives of SEPA Director General Ashiq Ali Langah and under the supervision of Regional Incharge Hyderabad Ali Nawaz Bhambhro. District Incharge Hyderabad Mohammad Mataro led the inspection, assisted by Assistant Director Noor Ahmed Nahyoon and Environmental Inspector Mohammad Saleem.
